Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “green honey tea” thing all over my feed, and I finally caved. Figured I’d give it a shot and, you know, document the whole messy process for you guys.

Getting Started

First things first, I gathered my stuff. I am not even kidding, finding some of these ingredients took me, like, two different stores. Here is what i got:

  • Some green tea bags – I just grabbed whatever looked decent.
  • Honey – I’m trying to be a little fancy, so got “raw” honey.
  • A lemon. A must-have item!
  • Fresh mint leaves – because, why not? It looked good in the pictures.
  • Water, obviously.

Brewing and Mixing

I boiled some water in my old, trusty kettle. Nothing fancy here, just waiting for it to whistle like crazy.

Then, I threw two tea bags into a mug. I’m making a big batch, okay? Don’t judge. Poured the boiling water over them and let it sit for, I don’t know, like 5 minutes? I just kinda guessed.

While that was happening, I squeezed the heck out of that lemon. Got about half of it juiced, and picked out the seeds that annoyingly fell in.

Once the tea seemed ready, I took out the tea bags and stirred in a HUGE spoonful of honey. Seriously, I like it sweet. Then, I poured in the lemon juice and gave it another good stir.

The Final Touches

I grabbed a few mint leaves, slapped them a bit (I saw someone do that once, no idea why), and tossed them into the mug. To make myself fill good, I added some ice cubes, because I wanted it cold.

My verdict

I took a sip, and… it’s pretty good! It’s kinda sweet, kinda tart, and the mint makes it feel, like, refreshing. I’m not sure if it’s worth all the hype, but it’s definitely a nice change from my usual boring drinks. Would I make it again? Maybe. If I’m feeling extra, or if I have guests I need to subtly impress. But for a regular day? I might just stick to my plain old iced tea. There is too much work.
