Alright, let’s yak about this green tea and that turmeric tea, yeah? My old bones tell me these things ain’t just fancy drinks, they got some good stuff in ’em.
What’s the big deal with green tea, huh? Well, my neighbor, that nosy Bessie down the road, she’s always goin’ on about how it makes her feel “refreshed.” I don’t know about all that fancy talk, but I drink it sometimes, and it does seem to perk me up a bit. Makes me feel a little less like an old, rusty tractor, you know? And I heard somewhere it’s got them “anti-ox-i-dants,” somethin’ or other that’s supposed to be good for ya. Keeps the rust off the insides, maybe?
Now, this turmeric tea, that’s a whole different critter. My grandkid, the one who’s always readin’ them books, he told me about it. Said it’s got this stuff called “cur-cu-min,” somethin’ like that. Sounds like a bug spray, don’t it? But he says it’s good for achy joints. And Lord knows, these old joints of mine, they ache somethin’ fierce sometimes. Especially when that darned weather changes.
I tried makin’ the turmeric tea myself once. Used that yellow powder stuff from the store. Tasted like dirt, I tell ya! Had to add a whole heap of honey just to choke it down. But my joints, they did feel a bit better after a while. Maybe that kid ain’t so crazy after all.
So, what happens when you mix ’em together? Well, I ain’t no scientist, but I figure if they’re both good on their own, they gotta be even better together, right? Like peanut butter and jelly, or biscuits and gravy. My grandkid, he made me some kinda fancy iced tea with both of ’em in it. Said it was full of them “anti-ox-i-dants” and good for fightin’ off all sorts of nasty stuff. Tasted a whole lot better than that dirt-tastin’ turmeric tea I made, that’s for sure.
I don’t know if it made me younger or nothin’, but I did feel a bit more spry after drinkin’ it. Maybe it’s all in my head, but hey, if it makes an old lady like me feel a little better, I ain’t complainin’. And it beats takin’ all them pills the doctor’s always tryin’ to push on me.
Where do you get this stuff anyway? Well, you can find green tea bags just about anywhere these days. Even the little store down the road sells ’em. Turmeric, you might have to look a little harder for. Sometimes it’s with the spices, sometimes it’s in the health food aisle. Or you can do what I do, just ask your grandkid to get it for ya. Those youngsters know everything these days.
And if you’re feelin’ real fancy, you can even buy it online. My grandkid showed me this thing called “e-bay” where they sell just about everything under the sun. Said you can even get that turmeric tea there, with free shippin’ and all. I don’t know about all that computery stuff, but if it saves me a trip to the store, I ain’t gonna argue.
So, there ya have it. My two cents on this green tea and turmeric tea business. I ain’t no doctor, but I reckon they’re worth a try. Might just do ya some good. And if nothin’ else, it’ll give ya somethin’ warm to drink on a cold day, and that ain’t nothin’ to sneeze at.
Just remember, don’t go believin’ everything you hear on that there internet, and don’t expect no miracles. But a little bit of somethin’ good, that can’t hurt, right? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make myself a cup of that iced turmeric green tea. My joints are startin’ to ache again.
