Okay, so I wanted to try something new in my kitchen. I’ve been seeing these cool green tea bottles all over the place, and I thought, “Why not give it a shot myself?” So, I decided to make some homemade green tea and put them in bottles.

Get the Tea Leaves Ready

First things first, I grabbed some good quality green tea leaves. You can use tea bags too, but I think loose leaves give a better flavor. I measured out about two teaspoons of the leaves for each bottle I wanted to make.

Brew the Tea

Next, I boiled some water. The thing with green tea is, you don’t want to pour boiling water directly onto the leaves because it can make the tea bitter. So, I let the water cool down for a couple of minutes after it boiled. Then, I poured the hot water over the tea leaves in a big teapot. I let it steep for about three to five minutes – you don’t want to overdo it, or it gets bitter again.

Strain and Cool

After steeping, I strained the tea into a big jug to get rid of the leaves. Then came the waiting game – I had to let the tea cool down completely. I put the jug in the fridge to speed things up a bit. This took a while, maybe an hour or so.

Bottle It Up

Once the tea was nice and cold, I got my bottles ready. I used some old glass bottles that I had washed and sterilized. I carefully poured the cooled green tea into each bottle, leaving a little space at the top. I screwed the lids on tight.

Chill and Enjoy

Finally, I put the bottles back in the fridge to chill them even more. After a couple of hours, they were ready to drink! I’ve been enjoying these homemade green tea bottles throughout the week. They taste so much fresher than the store-bought ones, and it’s pretty cool to know I made them myself.

It was a fun little project, and I’d definitely recommend giving it a try if you’re into green tea. Plus, it’s a nice way to reduce plastic waste if you reuse bottles like I did.
