So, I’ve been messing around with making my own skincare stuff lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. Today, I want to share my little adventure with making green tea lotion. I heard all these great things about green tea for your skin, you know, like how it’s packed with antioxidants and can help with aging and stuff. So, I thought, why not give it a shot?

First off, I gathered all my ingredients. I brewed some strong green tea, let it cool down, then got some shea butter, some coconut oil – the usual suspects for a good moisturizer. I also grabbed a few drops of my favorite essential oils, just to make it smell nice, you know?

I started by melting down the shea butter and coconut oil in a double boiler. I felt like a real scientist, watching them transform into this smooth, silky liquid. Then, I slowly added the cooled green tea, whisking it all together. It was a bit tricky at first, trying to get the oil and water to mix, but I just kept at it, and eventually, it started to come together.

  • Brew strong green tea and let it cool.
  • Melt shea butter and coconut oil in a double boiler.
  • Slowly add cooled green tea while whisking.
  • Add a few drops of essential oils.
  • Keep whisking until it thickens.

I added a few drops of lavender and chamomile essential oils, ’cause I love how calming they are. Once it was all mixed up, I kept whisking until it started to cool down and thicken up. It took a bit of time, and my arm definitely got a workout, but hey, no pain, no gain, right?

When it finally reached that lotion-like consistency, I poured it into a clean jar. I was so excited to try it out! I waited for it to cool down completely, and then I applied some to my hands. Oh, boy! It felt amazing!

It was so smooth and creamy, and it absorbed into my skin really quickly. No greasy feeling at all, which is a huge plus for me. My skin felt instantly hydrated and soft. And the smell? Divine! The green tea scent with a hint of lavender and chamomile was just perfect.

My Verdict

I’ve been using this homemade green tea lotion for a few weeks now, and I gotta say, I’m loving it. My skin feels so much better. It’s softer, smoother, and just looks healthier overall. Plus, I love knowing exactly what’s in it. No weird chemicals or anything like that. Just pure, natural goodness. It’s easy to make and I really like it.

I’d definitely recommend giving this a try if you’re into making your own skincare products. It’s a fun little project, and the results are totally worth it. This is my experience of making a green tea lotion. Hope you find it interesting!
