white tea
Alright, so let me tell you about this little project I tried out – making a green tea scented something. I’ve always loved the smell of green tea, it’s just so fresh and calming. I figured, why not try to capture that in a homemade scent?
I started off pretty clueless, just grabbing some green tea bags from my kitchen. My first thought was to just boil them in water, thinking I could somehow bottle that up. Yeah, didn’t really work out. It just smelled like, well, weak tea. Not exactly what I was going for.
Then I remembered seeing something online about using oils to create scents, so I picked up some basic almond oil from the store. This time, I crushed the tea leaves a bit – not too much, just enough to release some of that goodness – and let them sit in the oil for, like, a week. I even tossed in a couple of lemon peels, ’cause I heard citrus goes well with green tea.
Here’s what I did step-by-step:
After a week, I strained out the leaves and peels, and honestly, it smelled pretty decent! It wasn’t super strong, but it had that nice, light green tea vibe with a hint of lemon. I put the oil in a little spray bottle I had lying around. It wasn’t perfect, kind of oily for a body spray, maybe better for a room diffuser or something. I even tried putting it on my pulse points, which did give a hint of the scent.
I wouldn’t call this a total success, but it was a fun experiment. I’m definitely going to try this again, maybe with different oils or by adding some other stuff like flowers. If any of you guys have tried something similar, let me know how it went! I’m still figuring this whole DIY scent thing out, so any tips are welcome.
