These city folk, they study all sorts of things. And they say drinkin’ that green tea, it’s good for ya. Helps with that sugar problem.

I remember one time, I was at the store, lookin’ at all them different kinds of tea bags. So many! It’s a real sight. You got your black tea, your red tea, your… well, I don’t know all the names. But the green tea, that’s the one they talk about. They got these boxes of it. These little tea bags, they’re like magic, I tell you. Just add water and that’s it.

One time, I ripped open one of them bags. Just to see what’s inside. It’s just leaves. Little green leaves, all dried up. Looks like somethin’ you’d feed the chickens. But don’t ya know, they say it’s okay to eat ’em. Them little leaves. I never tried it, but I suppose it wouldn’t kill ya. Like eatin’ a vegetable or some other green. They’re even good for you to eat, they say.

They put them green tea leaves in them little bags. Green tea tea bags, that’s the ticket. Makes it easy to make a cup. Just boil some water, dunk one of them bags in there, and let it sit for a bit. Then you got yourself a cup of green tea. Hot or cold, don’t matter. Still good for ya, either way. Good for what ails ya, they say.

Some of them city folk, they even put that green tea on their face. Like a mask or somethin’. I seen it on the TV. They mix it up with some other stuff, make a paste, and smear it all over their face. Says it’s good for your skin. Makes it all soft and young-lookin’. They even put it in that face wash stuff. Cleanser, they call it. They wash their faces with it every day, they say.

I don’t know about all that. Seems like a lot of trouble. But, if it makes ya feel good, I guess it ain’t hurtin’ nothin’. Me, I just like to drink it. Nice and warm on a cold day. It’s comfortin’, you know? And if it’s doin’ all them good things for ya, well, that’s just a bonus, ain’t it?

I seen some that say “organic” on the box. I reckon that means it’s extra good. Grown without all them nasty chemicals, I suppose. I don’t know much about that, but it sounds good. Probably costs a bit more, though. Everything good always costs more, don’t it?

Then you got some that say “decaf.” That means it don’t have that stuff in it that keeps ya awake. I like a little bit of that, now and then, to get me goin’ in the mornin’. But some folks, they can’t handle it. Makes ’em jittery. So they get the decaf green tea. Still good for ya, just don’t give ya that kick.

And another thing, some of them boxes have a hundred of these little green tea tea bags. A hundred! That’s a lot of tea. Last ya a good long while, I reckon. Unless you’re drinkin’ it all day, every day. Which, hey, maybe that ain’t a bad idea. If it’s as good for ya as they say, might as well drink it all the time, right?
