Today, I felt like having something refreshing, so I decided to make some green tea with herbs. I went and grabbed my favorite green tea leaves from the cupboard. I always keep a good stash because, you know, you never know when that tea craving will hit.

First things first, I put the kettle on. While waiting for the water to boil, I picked out some fresh herbs from my little indoor garden. I’ve got mint, a bit of lemon balm, and some chamomile. I love how these herbs smell together; it’s such a calming mix.

Preparing the Herbs

  • Rinsed the mint and lemon balm under cold water.
  • Gently patted them dry with a paper towel.
  • Took a few chamomile flowers and set them aside.

Once the water hit a rolling boil, I poured it into my teapot. I added a spoonful of green tea leaves into the tea infuser. Then, I tossed in the fresh herbs with the tea leaves. The hot water immediately started to release their lovely fragrance. It smelled so good!

Steeping and Serving

I let the tea steep for about three to four minutes. I don’t like it too strong, but you do you. If you want a stronger flavor, you can let it sit for a bit longer. After steeping, I removed the infuser and gave the tea a gentle stir. I have this cute little wooden spoon that I only use for tea. It makes me feel a bit fancy, even though it’s just a regular Tuesday.

Finally, I poured the tea into my favorite mug. It’s this big, chunky ceramic mug that keeps the tea warm for ages. I added a tiny bit of honey, just a drizzle, to balance out the flavors. I do not take sugar in my tea, usually.

And there you have it—my simple, refreshing cup of green tea with herbs. It’s an easy way to make a regular day feel a bit more special. Go ahead, try it out, and let me know how it goes!
