tea ceremony
Okay, so I’ve been on this tea kick lately, trying to find new and interesting flavors. I stumbled across Harney & Sons Pomegranate Oolong and figured, why not? I’m a sucker for anything pomegranate, and oolong is usually a safe bet.
First things first, I opened the tin. The aroma that hit me was pretty nice – a little fruity, a little floral, kind of what you’d expect. Not overpowering, just…pleasant.
Next, the usual routine. I boiled some water, I like my tea hot. I grabbed one of those pyramid sachet tea bags – they always look so fancy, right? – and popped it in my favorite mug.
Then, I poured the hot water over the tea bag and let it steep. The instructions said something like 3 minutes, but I usually just eyeball it. I like to watch the color change, it’s kinda mesmerizing. It went from clear to a light amber, nothing too crazy.
After a few minutes, I took out the tea bag and gave it a sniff. Still a nice, subtle pomegranate scent. Time for the taste test!
I took a sip, and…it was good! It wasn’t a super strong pomegranate flavor, which I actually appreciated. It was more like a hint of pomegranate, blending nicely with the smooth oolong taste. It’s not too sweet, not too bitter, just…balanced.
I think, it is definitely a tea I’d drink again. It’s a nice, relaxing kind of tea, perfect for an afternoon break or maybe with a light snack. If you’re looking for a super intense pomegranate explosion, this might not be it. But if you want a subtle, flavorful oolong with a touch of fruitiness, I’d say give it a try! I am very glad I did it!
