Okay, so I’ve been seeing this Arizona Iced Lemon Tea everywhere, and I finally caved and decided to try making it at home. It looked simple enough, and I figured, why not give it a shot? Plus, who doesn’t love a good iced tea, especially with summer coming up?
I started by gathering what I thought I’d need. Some black tea bags, because that seemed like the base of the whole thing. Then, a bunch of lemons ’cause, you know, it’s lemon tea. I also grabbed some sugar and water, obviously. I wasn’t sure about the exact recipe, so I just kinda winged it, which is usually how I roll in the kitchen.
First things first, I brewed a big pot of black tea. I think I used about eight tea bags for a pretty big batch. I let that steep for a while, probably longer than I should have, ’cause I got distracted scrolling through my phone. Anyway, once it was this deep, dark brown color, I figured it was strong enough.
While the tea was cooling down, I got to work on the lemons. I juiced a whole bunch of them, maybe six or seven? My hands were definitely cramping by the end, but I powered through. I strained the juice to get rid of the seeds and pulp, ’cause nobody wants that in their tea.
Next, I mixed the tea and lemon juice together in a big pitcher. I added a good amount of sugar, too. I didn’t really measure, just kept adding and tasting until it was sweet enough for my liking. It’s all about personal preference, right? I gave it a good stir to make sure everything was well combined.
Finally, I chilled the whole thing in the fridge for a few hours. You gotta have it cold, that’s the best part of iced tea! Once it was nice and cold, I poured myself a tall glass over ice, stuck a lemon wedge on the rim, and took a big sip.
Honestly, it wasn’t exactly like the Arizona Iced Lemon Tea from the store, but it was still pretty darn good! It was refreshing, lemony, and just the right amount of sweetness. I might tweak the recipe a bit next time, maybe add a bit more lemon or experiment with different types of tea, but overall, I’m calling this a win.
It’s definitely a fun little kitchen project, and way cheaper than buying it all the time. If you’re into iced tea, give it a try and see what you think. You might surprise yourself!
