Alright, today I’m gonna talk about my journey to make the strongest black tea.

Started with Choosing the Right Tea

I started by picking the right kind of black tea. I mean, you can’t just grab any old box from the shelf. I looked for loose leaf tea because I heard it’s better quality than those tea bags. I got my hands on some strong English Breakfast and some bold Assam.

Boiled Water

Next, I boiled some water. I didn’t just use tap water, though. I used filtered water because it tastes better. I brought that water to a rolling boil, like 212°F, for making black tea.

Measured the Tea

Then, I measured out the tea. I used about one teaspoon of loose leaf tea for each cup I planned to make. If you want it stronger, you can use more, but I didn’t want to overdo it on my first try.

Put Tea in Pot

I warmed up my teapot by swirling some hot water in it and then dumping it out. Then I put the tea leaves into the teapot. I made sure the leaves had enough room to move around and do their thing.

Poured Water Over Tea

I poured the boiling water over the tea leaves, making sure they were all covered. Then I put the lid on the teapot to keep the heat in.

Steeped the Tea

Now, here’s the waiting part. I let the tea steep for about 3 to 5 minutes. I know some folks like to let it go longer for a stronger taste, but I started with this range. You can always test it as you go and see what you like.

Strained the Tea

After steeping, I used a strainer and poured the tea into my cup. This way, I didn’t get any leaves in my drink. If you’re using a teapot with a built-in infuser, you can skip the strainer.

Tasted and Adjusted

I took a sip of the tea. If it wasn’t strong enough, I could’ve added more tea leaves or let it steep longer next time. If it was too strong, I could’ve used less tea or reduced the steeping time. It’s all about finding that sweet spot.

Enjoyed My Strong Black Tea

  • Finally, I sat back and enjoyed my cup of strong black tea. You can add milk, sugar, or lemon if that’s your thing, but I like mine straight.

So, that’s how I learned to make a strong cup of black tea. It took a few tries to get it just right, but now I can make a killer cup whenever I want. Give it a shot, and you might just find your perfect brew too!
