I got into trying out Indian black tea a while back, and let me tell you, it’s become a bit of a ritual for me now. It all started when I was looking for something to spice up my usual tea routine.

First off, I dove into figuring out how to keep my tea fresh. Turns out, air and light are the enemies here. They mess with the flavor big time. So, I picked up some airtight containers – nothing fancy, just something to keep the air out. I learned that green and white teas are more delicate, but since I’m dealing with black tea, it’s a bit more forgiving. Still, I didn’t want to take any chances.

Storing the tea was the next thing. I cleared out a spot in my cupboard, far away from the spices and anything with a strong smell. I remembered reading somewhere that tea can absorb odors, and I definitely didn’t want my black tea tasting like cumin or something. The cupboard was cool and dark, which I figured was perfect. No sunlight sneaking in and ruining my tea.

  • Bought airtight containers
  • Found a cool, dark spot in the cupboard
  • Kept it away from strong smells

Now, when I make the tea, I usually drink it right away. But sometimes, I make a bit extra. For those times, I let it cool down and then pop it in the fridge. It’s good for a few days, which is handy. I just make sure it’s in a clean container to keep it tasting good.

Honestly, this whole process has been pretty straightforward. Just taking a few extra steps to store the tea properly has made a difference. My Indian black tea stays fresh, and I get to enjoy a nice cup whenever I want, without any weird flavors.

How I made my tea:

  • Boiled the water
  • Added the tea leaves
  • Steeped it for a little while
  • Poured it out
  • Sometimes I added a little bit of milk

This tea has been great. I like to share it with my friends sometimes, too. They’ve all enjoyed it. I think I might try some other kinds of tea in the future. But this black tea is what I like the most for now.

I used to just throw my tea bags into any old box, but now I’m all about keeping it fresh. It’s not rocket science, but it makes a big difference in the taste. I also like to write down the day I opened the tea, so I can keep track of how old it is.
