Okay, so I decided to try making some lavender lemon tea today. You know, they always say it’s good for relaxing and stuff, so I figured why not give it a shot? I started by gathering all the ingredients. I already had some dried lavender at home, and I picked up a fresh lemon from the grocery store. Oh, and of course, I needed some hot water.
First, I boiled some water in my kettle. While the water was heating up, I measured out about a tablespoon of dried lavender and put it into my teapot. If you don’t have a teapot, no worries, you can just use a mug and a strainer later.
Once the water came to a boil, I poured it over the lavender in the teapot. Then, I sliced the lemon in half. From one half, I cut a few thin slices to use as a garnish later. With the other half, I squeezed out all the juice into the teapot. I made sure to avoid getting any seeds in there. Nobody likes a mouthful of seeds in their tea, right?
After that, I stirred everything together and let it steep for about 5 minutes. You could see the water slowly turning a pretty, light purple color. It smelled amazing too, all floral and citrusy. Honestly, just the smell alone was already making me feel more relaxed.
Once it was done steeping, I poured the tea into a mug, straining out the lavender buds. If you steeped it in a mug, just hold a strainer over your cup as you pour. Then, I added those lemon slices I set aside earlier for a nice touch. And that’s it!
I took a sip, and man, it was good! It had a delicate floral taste with a hint of tartness from the lemon. It was really soothing and calming, perfect for winding down after a long day. I can totally see why people like to drink this before bed. It definitely helped me feel more relaxed and at ease. I’ll probably make this again sometime when I need to de-stress. Give it a try if you’re looking for a tasty and relaxing drink!
