Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “Lipton Green Tea Diet” thing floating around, and I figured, why not give it a shot? I’m not a huge fan of diets, but this seemed pretty straightforward. Basically, you just drink a bunch of Lipton Green Tea, and supposedly, it helps you lose weight. Sounds easy enough, right?

Day 1: Getting Started

I went to the grocery store and bought a big box of Lipton Green Tea bags. The ones that say “Diet” on them. I brewed myself a cup, and honestly, it wasn’t bad. Tasted like, well, green tea. I drank it plain, no sugar or anything. I managed to drink about four cups throughout the day. Didn’t really feel any different, but it’s only day one.

Day 3: Feeling…Thirsty

I’m definitely drinking more fluids than usual. I’ve been making a big pitcher of green tea in the morning and keeping it in the fridge. It’s kind of nice having it cold, especially since it’s been pretty warm out. I’m still drinking about four to five cups a day. I’ve also been trying to eat a little healthier, just because. Not sure if it’s the tea, but I do feel a little less bloated.

  • I fell asleep early.
  • I started to wake up and feel very thirsty at midnight.

Day 7: A Week In

Okay, so it’s been a full week of this green tea experiment. I’ve stuck to drinking at least four cups a day. I haven’t really changed my diet too much, other than cutting back on soda. And…I think I’ve lost a couple of pounds? It’s not a huge difference, but my pants feel a tiny bit looser. I am also peeing, A LOT.

Day 14: Two Weeks Down

Two weeks in, and I’m still going! I’ve gotten used to the taste of the green tea, and I actually kind of enjoy it now. I’ve even started experimenting with adding a little lemon sometimes. I’ve definitely noticed that I have more energy, and I don’t feel as sluggish in the afternoons. I’ve lost about four pounds total, which isn’t bad for just drinking tea! The most obvious thing is that I feel so good when I wake up in the morning.

The Verdict?

So, after a full two weeks of drinking Lipton Green Tea, I can say that it’s…not a miracle cure. But, it did help me drink more water, feel a bit more energized, and maybe even lose a few pounds. I think the key is that it’s a simple change you can make. It’s not some crazy restrictive diet. It’s just tea. I’m probably going to keep drinking it, just because I like it. And if it helps me stay hydrated and feel good, then that’s a bonus!

Try it yourself if you like.
