Alright, so you wanna know about this mango black tea, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t rocket science. It’s just tea, but with a little somethin’ somethin’ extra, ya know? Like when you add a pinch of sugar to your cornbread, makes it a little sweeter.
First off, you got your regular black tea. Now, that’s just leaves, dried up and all. They take ’em from a bush, a tea bush, they call it. Same kinda bush they get all them fancy teas from, the green ones, the white ones, the ones with the funny names you can’t even pronounce. All comes from the same place, just like how all us folks come from somewhere.
Anyways, they take them leaves and dry ’em out. Then they gotta do somethin’ to ’em, crush ’em up or somethin’, I ain’t too sure on the details. But that’s how you get your black tea. It’s strong stuff, ya know? Good for wakin’ you up in the mornin’, or keepin’ you goin’ in the afternoon when you gotta get them chores done.
Now, this mango black tea, that’s where they add a little somethin’ special. Mango. You know, them yellow fruits, sweet and juicy? They put some of that in there, somehow. I reckon they dry it up too, or maybe they got some kinda juice they add in. Don’t rightly know how they do it, but it makes the tea taste a whole lot different.
It ain’t just plain ol’ bitter no more. It’s got a sweetness to it, a little bit of that fruity taste. Makes it easier to drink, I guess, if you ain’t used to that strong black tea flavor. My grandson, he don’t like plain black tea, says it’s too bitter. But he likes this mango stuff. Goes through it like water, he does.
I tried it myself, once or twice. Not bad, not bad at all. But I still prefer my plain black tea, strong and hot. Gets the job done, ya know? But this mango tea, it’s good for a change of pace. Like when you get tired of eatin’ beans and cornbread every day, and you want a little bit of that apple pie for dessert.
Now, I hear tell you can buy this mango black tea all over the place. They got it in them big stores, and even in them little fancy shops downtown. They sell it in bags, little teabags, or sometimes in loose leaves, like the real stuff. And they got all different kinds too, different brands, different prices. Some of ’em are cheap, some of ’em are so expensive, you’d think they were made of gold.
But it’s all just tea, when you get right down to it. Leaves and water, with a little bit of mango thrown in for good measure. So don’t go gettin’ all fancy about it. Just drink it and enjoy it, that’s what I say. And if you don’t like it, well, there’s plenty of other teas out there. Or you can just stick to good ol’ water. Can’t go wrong with water, that’s for sure.
I saw some prices for this mango black tea the other day, when I was at the store with my daughter. Some of them were right cheap, you know, a few dollars for a box. But then there were these fancy ones, cost ten, twenty dollars, even more! I told my daughter, “Girl, you crazy if you spend that much money on tea!” But she just laughed and said it was worth it. Kids these days, they don’t know the value of a dollar.
Anyways, that’s about all I know about this mango black tea. It’s black tea, with mango in it. It’s sweet, it’s fruity, and it’s a nice change of pace from plain ol’ black tea. If you like mango, and you like tea, then you’ll probably like this stuff. If you don’t, well, stick to what you know. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with that.
