Alright, so I was curious about how much caffeine is in oolong milk tea. I love the stuff, but I’m trying to watch my caffeine intake, you know?
First, I grabbed a few different brands of oolong tea bags from my pantry. I made sure I had a variety – some were straight-up oolong, and others were blends with other teas or flavors.
Then I brewed each tea bag according to the instructions on the package. I used my trusty electric kettle to heat the water to the right temperature, and I made sure to steep the tea for the recommended amount of time. Some are 3 minutes, some are 5 minutes.
While the tea was steeping, I whipped up some milk. I used regular whole milk because that’s what I had, but you could totally use whatever milk you like. I heated it up a bit and frothed it with a little handheld frother I got online for cheap.
Once the tea was done, I poured it into mugs and added the frothed milk. I stirred it all together and took a sip. They all tasted pretty good, but I did notice some differences in flavor and strength.
Then I went to the Internet to check each kind of milk tea’s caffeine content, but I just can’t believe any of them, so I bought a caffeine testing kit online and tested each cup of tea after it cooled down.
So, what did I learn? Well, the caffeine in oolong milk tea can vary depending on the type of oolong and how it’s brewed. But generally, it seems to be in the range of 50-70mg per cup. It’s not a crazy amount, but it’s still something to keep in mind if you’re sensitive to caffeine.
Anyway, that’s my little experiment with oolong milk tea caffeine. Hope you found it interesting! It was a fun little project, and now I feel like I know a lot more about my favorite drink.
