So, I was really feeling a cocktail the other day, but not just any cocktail. I wanted something refreshing yet with a little kick to it. That’s when I thought, why not try making an oolong tea cocktail? I’ve always loved oolong tea for its smooth, rich flavor. It contains more caffeine than many other teas, but it’s less than coffee. Coffee is like 95mg of caffeine!

First, I brewed some strong oolong tea. I let it steep for a good while to get all that flavor out. While it was still hot, I stirred in a bit of honey because, you know, sweet things are good. Then I let it cool down. Patience is key, my friends, especially when you don’t want to water down your drink with melted ice later.

Next, I grabbed my cocktail shaker and filled it with ice. I poured in the cooled oolong tea, and then added a splash of some Cassis. It gives the drink a nice fruity sweetness.

  • Brewed strong oolong tea.
  • Stirred in honey, then cooled.
  • Mixed with ice, Cassis in a shaker.

I shook everything up for about 15 seconds – got to make sure it’s all mixed well and chilled. Then I strained the mix into a glass, and honestly, it looked amazing. A kind of deep, amber color.

I also tried a version with some pisco and a bit of hibiscus tea syrup. That was different, a bit floral, and the pisco gave it an extra punch. It turned into a beautiful color – I guess it’s like Scarlet Glow.

To finish it off, I dropped in a slice of lemon. And there you have it, my homemade oolong tea cocktail. It was the perfect mix of that comforting tea flavor with the fun twist of a cocktail. Definitely making this again!

So the combination is the refreshing taste of oolong tea and the fruity sweetness of Cassis. The combination made me feel so good!
