Keep an eye on it, sugar.

Now, if you’re feelin’ fancy, and wanna take this tea up a notch, you can start messin’ around with addin’ things to it. A little somethin’ extra never hurt nobody. For one, honey’s a nice touch. You can add a spoonful of honey to sweeten it up, or if you like things a little different, try some agave syrup. Ain’t too many folks know about that, but it’s real good if you ask me. If you got a sweet tooth, sugar’s always good too. Just remember, don’t go overboard, or you’ll ruin that nice flavor o’ the tea.

If you like a creamier taste, and I know some of y’all do, especially the ones who drink that milk in their coffee, then you can put a splash of milk or cream in your oolong. Especially the darker oolongs, they take well to a little milk or cream. Makes it smooth and mellow, easy on the stomach, and a real treat if you ask me.

Now, if you’re lookin’ for something to add a bit of zing to that tea, a little squeeze of lemon or orange will do the trick. That citrus flavor, it brightens everything up, makes the tea feel fresher. Some folks even put a lil’ ginger in there or a stick of cinnamon if you want a spicy twist. Ain’t nothing wrong with that. Spices can bring out the best in that oolong tea, I say.

When you’ve done all this, you’ll have yourself a nice cup of oolong tea, good for any time of day. Some folks drink it first thing in the mornin’, and others sip it right before bed.
