Hey there, lemme tell ya somethin’ ’bout tea. I heard folks talkin’ ’bout oolong tea and white tea. Now, I ain’t no fancy tea expert, but I’ve had my share of tea in my days, so I know a thing or two.

What’s the Deal with Oolong Tea?

So, this oolong tea, they say it’s kinda in between. Not too strong, not too light. See, they do somethin’ to the leaves, somethin’ called “oxi-dizin’.” It means they let the tea leaves sit out a bit, but not too long. Kinda like when you leave apples out, and they start to turn brown.

This oolong, it ain’t as dark as that black tea my neighbor drinks, but it ain’t as light as that white tea either. It’s somewhere in the middle, I reckon. They say it can taste kinda flowery, or fruity, or even nutty. Depends on how they make it, I guess. Some call it 20%, some call it 80%. I don’t know the number, but it’s oolong tea.

And get this, they say oolong ain’t got as much of that “caff-feen” stuff as black tea. That caff-feen’s what keeps ya up at night, ya know? So, if you want somethin’ to sip on without gettin’ all jittery, maybe oolong’s the way to go.

White Tea, What is it?

Now, this white tea, they say it’s the fanciest of ’em all. They use the little baby leaves and buds, real delicate-like. And they don’t do much to ’em, just let ’em dry out a bit. Not like the oolong where they let it sit out longer.

They say white tea is real light and fresh. I imagine it tastes like a spring morning, all crisp and clean. There are many types of white tea, Silver Needle, White Peony, Long Life Eyebrow and so on. I reckon it’d be nice to try sometime, but I ain’t got the money for that fancy stuff.

  • Silver Needle: Fancy name, ain’t it? Probably tastes like money.
  • White Peony: Sounds like a flower. Bet it smells nice.
  • Tribute Eyebrow: Now that’s a strange name for tea.
  • Long Life Eyebrow: Maybe it’ll make ya live longer? Who knows.
  • Fujian New Craft: I don’t know this. Maybe it’s good.

Oolong Tea VS White Tea

So, you got your oolong, which is kinda in the middle, and your white tea, which is real light and delicate. They are totally different. One is roasted and nutty, another is light and fresh. They both come from the same plant, but they do different things to ’em. Like how you can make cornbread or grits from corn. Same thing, but different.

If you like your tea strong, you probably want black tea. My friend likes it. But if you want somethin’ lighter, maybe try oolong or white tea. Oolong’s good if you want somethin’ in between. Not too strong, not too weak.

I think oolong tea is stronger than white tea. White tea is more light.

One more thing, they say oolong got less “caff-feen” than black tea. So, if you don’t want to be up all night, maybe stick with oolong or white tea.

Which Tea is Better?

Well, that’s like askin’ if a chicken is better than a pig. They’re both good in their own way, ain’t they? It just depends on what you like. If you like somethin’ light and fresh, go for the white tea. If you want somethin’ a little stronger, but not too strong, try the oolong. There is no good or bad, just choose what you like.

Me, I like a good cup of whatever’s on hand. Don’t need nothin’ fancy. Just somethin’ hot and wet to warm ya up on a cold day. But hey, if you got the money and want to try somethin’ new, go for it. Maybe you’ll find your new favorite tea.

I heard that drinking tea is good for health. My neighbor’s daughter drinks tea everyday and she is very healthy. She said that tea can help you prevent cancer. I don’t know if it is true but I believe her. Because tea makes me feel good. I will drink more tea in the future.

So there ya have it. That’s all I know ’bout oolong and white tea. Hope it helps ya some. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go put the kettle on. I think oolong tea is good. I will make a cup of oolong tea.
