This here story is about Oolong the bunny. Oolong, he was a special rabbit, that one. Born way back in, uh, 1994, I reckon. July 28th, yeah, that’s it. In a place called Hokkaido, Japan. Far away place, that.

Oolong the Bunny’s Life

Now, this bunny, he weren’t just any old rabbit. He had a man, name of Hironori Akutagawa, who took care of him. They were like this, you know. Oolong, he could do this trick. A real good trick.

He could put stuff on his head and just sit there, still as a rock. Like that Japanese pancake thing, the dorayaki. He’d just balance it right up there, like it was glued on or somethin’. Made him real famous, that trick did.

Oolong the Bunny Got Famous

People started talkin’ about Oolong the bunny. Papers, even that fancy New York Times one, they wrote about him. Then he got real big on that internet thing. Everyone was sharin’ pictures of him. Called him “Bunny Wafflehead,” when he had that pancake on his noggin. He was a real star, that little fella was.

That Oolong the bunny, he weren’t the biggest rabbit. Not like that Darius one. That there Darius, he’s a whopper. Over four feet long! That’s longer than a little kid! Annette Edwards, she’s the one who’s got him. Lives over in the UK, I hear. They measured that Darius for some paper called the Daily Mail, back in, oh, 2010, I think it was. April 6th, yeah. He’s a Flemish Giant, that’s what kind of rabbit he is. Big as a dog, almost.

But our Oolong the bunny, he was famous for his own thing. For that balancin’ act. People loved it. You could say he was a real internet sensation. That’s what them young folks call it. He had a good life, that Oolong.

Remembering Oolong the Bunny

Now, Oolong, he ain’t with us no more. He went on to that big bunny field in the sky on January 7th. But people still remember him. They still share them pictures of him with that pancake on his head. He brought a lot of smiles to people’s faces, that’s for sure. And he lived a good long while for a bunny, too.

Oolong the bunny, he was one of a kind. A real special rabbit. Didn’t need to be big as a house like that Darius to be famous. He had his own special talent. He was a good bunny, that Oolong. A real good bunny.

Now that Hironori, he was a good man, lookin’ after that bunny like he did. Treatin’ him real good, givin’ him them pancakes and all. They don’t make ’em like that anymore, I tell ya. That’s the kind of care a bunny needs. Good food, a nice place to live, and lots of love. That’s what Oolong had, and that’s why he was so happy, I reckon. He was one lucky bunny, that’s for sure.

That internet thing, it’s a funny thing. Makes a star out of a little bunny like Oolong. Back in my day, we didn’t have nothin’ like that. We just had the newspaper, and the radio. But that’s alright. Oolong, he got his time to shine, and that’s what matters.

I remember when them pictures of Oolong the bunny was goin’ around. My granddaughter, she showed me on her phone. She thought it was the funniest thing. She kept sayin’, “Grandma, look at this bunny! He’s got a pancake on his head!” I had to admit, it was pretty funny. That Oolong, he was a character, alright. He brought a lot of joy to people, all over the world. That’s somethin’ special, ain’t it? A little bunny from Japan, makin’ people smile all the way over here. That’s the power of the internet, I guess. It’s a small world, after all. Like they say.

Oolong’s Legacy

So, yeah, Oolong the bunny, he’s gone now, but he ain’t forgotten. He’s still out there, on that internet, makin’ people smile. He’s a legend, that bunny is. A legend with a pancake on his head. And that’s just fine. That’s just fine by me.
