Well, let me tell you somethin’ about these reusable tea bags. Back in my day, we just threw the tea leaves right in the pot! None of this fancy stuff. But I guess times are changin’, and these newfangled things are supposed to be better. So, I’ve been trying them out.

These things, they call ’em reusable tea bags, you can use ’em over and over again. Ain’t that somethin’? You just put your tea leaves in, like the loose kind, not the ones already in bags. Then you pour the hot water, let it sit for a bit, and you got your tea.

They got all kinds of these tea bags. Some are made of this… what do they call it? Sili-cone? Feels kinda rubbery. They say it’s good for you, I dunno. Then there’s these cloth ones. They’re like little pouches made of cotton, some with strings, some without. I saw some made of cheesecloth, too. They say those are good for coffee and other things, too. Those cheesecloth ones are used for strainin’ other stuff too. Useful, I guess!

  • These silicone tea bags, they come in all colors.
  • The cotton ones are usually just plain, nature color.
  • Some have drawstrings, like little sacks.
  • They say you can wash ’em and use ’em again and again.

Now, I heard some folks sayin’ you can get sick from usin’ these things over and over. Somethin’ about bacteria. I don’t know about all that. My grandma never worried about no bacteria. Just gotta make sure you clean ’em real good, I reckon. Keep them in a dry place, I guess that will help with the mold. If you leave them out, of course they will get moldy! I guess it’s just common sense, really.

They say these reusable tea bags are good for the environment. Less waste, you see. ‘Cause you ain’t throwin’ away a tea bag every time you make a cup. That makes sense, I suppose. We used to reuse everything. Nothin’ went to waste. These days, folks throw away so much stuff. It’s a shame, really. So I guess these tea bags are a good thing in that way. You don’t have to throw it away every time.

If you want to try these things, you can find them at the stores, I guess. But they’re cheaper online, or so I’m told. I ain’t got one of them computers, though. But my granddaughter, she showed me on hers. You can get a whole bunch of these reusable tea bags for a few bucks. And they last a long time. As long as you take care of them, like they said.

Now, some folks, they don’t like these reusable tea bags. They say the tea doesn’t taste the same. I don’t know. Tea is tea to me. But some people are picky, I guess. I mean, you gotta let the tea sit for a while in the hot water for the flavor to come out. Some of these little tea bag things keep the leaves in, so no floaties in your cup. My grandma never cared about floaties, though. You just drank the tea, floaties and all!

These cotton ones, they say they gotta be 100% cotton. And organic, whatever that means. And the string, too. Gotta be cotton. I guess that’s important. You don’t want no plastic in your tea, I suppose. I saw some say “organic” on the tag. I guess that’s the kind you want if you care about that stuff. Some are made of coffee filters. I guess if you can use it for coffee you can use it for tea, too. Some say these bags are durable, too.

My granddaughter, she showed me how to use these reusable tea bags. It’s pretty easy. Just gotta be careful with the hot water. And don’t fill ’em up too much, or the tea leaves won’t have room to, you know, do their thing. Then you wait a bit for the tea to get dark. That’s how you know it’s ready.

These things are handy, I guess. Especially if you’re goin’ somewhere. You can just bring your tea bag and your loose tea, and you’re all set. They’re good for the office, too. Don’t have to keep buyin’ them little tea bags all the time. You can just bring your own, save a little money, too. Maybe I should bring them to my neighbor, too. She is always buying those small tea bags. They are so expensive!

So, yeah, these reusable tea bags, they ain’t so bad, I guess. They’re different, that’s for sure. But maybe they’re a good thing. Less waste, cheaper in the long run. And the tea tastes alright. Just gotta get used to ’em, I suppose. Like anything new, it takes some gettin’ used to. If you’re thinkin’ about tryin’ ’em, I say go for it. Might be surprised. You never know until you try, right?
