tea bag holders

Well, now, let me tell you about these here tea bag holders. Lord, these days, they got all sorts of contraptions for things, don’t they? Back in my day, we just used a saucer, or maybe the edge of the plate, if you was havin’ a biscuit or somethin’ with your tea. But now, oh no, gotta have a special little dish just for the tea bag.

I seen ’em online, you know, those fancy stores on the computer. They call ’em “tea bag holders” or sometimes “teabag caddy.” Sounds like a fancy golf cart or somethin’, don’t it? They come in all shapes and sizes, these things. Some are just plain little plates, not much different than what Grandma used to use. But others, they’re all dolled up.

I saw one looked like a little teapot itself. Cute, I reckon, but who needs a teapot to hold a tea bag that came from a teapot? Seems a bit much, don’t it? Then there’s those made of that clear stuff, acrylic, they call it. Looks like glass, but it ain’t. Suppose it won’t break as easy, which is good if you’re clumsy like me. These clear tea bag holders are good for seeing how many bags you got left, I guess.

  • Some are made of wood. Now that’s just silly. Wood and water don’t mix, everyone knows that.
  • They got some made of metal too, stainless steel. Suppose those would last a lifetime, but they probably cost a fortune.
  • There are also those ceramic ones, like your fancy china. Pretty, but I’d be scared to use ’em.

And the prices! Land sakes, you wouldn’t believe what they want for these things. I saw one for almost thirty dollars! For a little dish to hold a used tea bag! Why, you could buy a whole box of tea bags for that much. And some places want even more! Forty dollars, I seen for a “tea station organizer.” What a world, what a world.

Now, some of these tea bag holders, they ain’t just for holdin’ the used bags. They got ones that are like little boxes, with compartments and such. You can store your new tea bags in ’em, keep ’em all neat and tidy. They call those “tea bag storage” or “tea bag organizer.” I guess if you got a lot of different kinds of tea, it might be useful. But I just stick to my Lipton, mostly. Sometimes a little chamomile if I can’t sleep.

They got these organizers made of that acrylic stuff, some made of wood, even bamboo. That bamboo is supposed to be all the rage these days, eco-friendly and whatnot. They even got some with multiple layers, like a little skyscraper for your tea bags. Imagine that. And they got all different sizes too, some hold sixty tea bags, some hold a hundred and eighty! Who drinks that much tea?

And don’t even get me started on the names they give these things. “YSSH Tea Bag Storage Box,” “NHZ Tea Bag Holder,” “DRASTAR Tea Bag Organizer.” Sounds like somethin’ out of one of them space movies. Why can’t they just call it a tea bag dish? Simple and to the point.

They say you gotta store your tea in a dark, dry place, in an airtight container. Keeps it fresh, I suppose. A cupboard or a pantry, that’s where I keep mine. Some folks put ’em in glass jars. I just leave ’em in the box they come in. Seems to work just fine.

These tea bag holders, I guess they’re okay if you like that sort of thing. If you got money to burn, maybe. But for me, I’ll just stick to my old saucer. It’s worked for me all these years, and I don’t see no need to change now. Besides, it don’t cost a dime, and I can use that money to buy more important things, like more tea!

If you really like those little things, you can find them anywhere. Those big stores, those online shops that sell everything under the sun. Just a few clicks on your computer, and boom, you got yourself a tea bag holder. You can even get them with fancy patterns or shapes, or in a special color.

But like I said, a good ol’ saucer does the job just fine. No need for anything fancy. Just like life, simple is always better. Save your money for something useful, that’s what I always say. A good cup of tea, a comfy chair, and some peace and quiet, that’s all you really need. No need for no fancy tea bag holders.
