I don’t know about all that, but the brown ones do look more natural, like they grew on a tree or something. I saw them on Amazon too, so many choices.

The box said some are made from wood pulp. Now, that’s a new one on me. Wood pulp! Who’d have thought? They say it’s better for the earth, that it breaks down easier. I guess that’s important, not making more trash for the landfill. Wood pulp tea filter bags should be good.

I remember when we just used a strainer, a metal one. You’d put the tea leaves in it, pour the water, and then you had to clean it out. It was a pain. The tea filter bags, she just throws them away. These little bags are a real improvement, those modern folks think of everything these days.

But then there is also those bags that already have tea in them. Those things you just dunk in the water. My neighbor she said those aren’t so good. Something about plastic, little bits of it getting in your tea. Can you imagine that? Tiny pieces of plastic floating in your tea. Sounds nasty, if you ask me.

She read it somewhere, I reckon. Said some smart folks did a study and found out those bags release a whole bunch of these little plastic pieces, called microplastics or whatever. They are not good. They get into your body, and no one knows what they do there. I say, better safe than sorry. Stick with the loose tea and the tea filter bags. At least you know what you’re getting.

Tea Strainer Is Old Fashioned

I used to use a tea strainer, you know. One of those metal things with the little holes. My mother used one, and her mother before her. It did the job, I guess. But it was a pain to clean. Always tea leaves stuck in the little holes. And sometimes, if the tea was really fine, it would still get through. This tea strainer thing is not as good as tea filter bags.
