Sounds like a whole lotta tea goin’ on in that town. I wonder if they got sweet tea? That’s my favorite, you know, with a big ol’ slice of lemon. And maybe a piece of pie, apple pie or pecan pie, somethin’ hearty and good.

Now, I don’t know much about this “tea ceremony” they talk about, somethin’ from Japan, I think. Sounds real complicated, with all them rules and rituals. We ain’t got nothin’ like that out here in the country. We just boil the water, throw in the tea bags, and call it good.

But I guess there’s somethin’ to be said for takin’ your time and enjoyin’ a good cup of tea. It’s like a little break from the everyday hustle and bustle, a chance to slow down and appreciate the simple things. And maybe that’s what these tea rooms in Santa Fe are all about, givin’ people a place to relax and enjoy a nice cuppa tea and a little somethin’ sweet. Even if it does cost a little more than what we’re used to payin’ out here in the sticks.
