Well, I heard folks talking ’bout tea set white and gold, so I thought I’d tell ya what I know. Now, these ain’t your regular cups for just any old tea. These is fancy, you see? They got that shiny gold on ’em, makes ’em look real special.
My neighbor, she got one of these white and gold tea sets. She keeps it on that shelf, you know the one, right by the window. She only brings it out when the preacher comes over or when she’s got company she wants to impress.
Well, they just look pretty, I reckon. That white and gold, it just shines. Makes you feel like you’re drinkin’ somethin’ real important, not just your regular tea.
Now, I seen some that’s real old, like, older than me! And I heard them’s worth a lot of money. The older the tea set, the more money it’s worth, they say. Especially if it is over 200 years old. That’s what I heard, anyway. But don’t go sellin’ your grandma’s tea set just yet. You gotta make sure it’s the real deal first. Some of them new ones, they try to make ’em look old, but they ain’t. You gotta be careful.
I saw one time, a real pretty tea set. It was all white and gold, with little flowers painted on it. It was so delicate, like a butterfly’s wing. I wouldn’t dare touch it, ‘fraid I’d break it. That lady, she said it was from some fancy place, China, I think. Said it was real old, from some dynasty. I don’t know ’bout all that, but it sure was pretty.
Well, you can find ’em in them fancy stores, I reckon. The ones downtown, with the big windows and all them shiny things. But they’re gonna cost ya. They ain’t cheap, these white and gold tea sets. You might find one at a yard sale, too, if you’re lucky. But you gotta watch out for them fakes. Like I said, some folks try to trick ya.
When you are making tea, you gotta use a teapot. You gotta have a real teapot. That’s what makes it a real cup of tea, using a teapot. And you gotta use real tea leaves, not them little bags. Put them leaves in the teapot, pour in the hot water, and let it sit for a bit. Then pour it in your cup. That’s how you make a good cup of tea. Bone china teacup is good too.
You know what, I seen one of them tea sets on that TV show. The one where they go to people’s houses and look at their old stuff. This one lady, she had a tea set that was white and gold. And it was worth a lot of money, like, thousands! They said it was from China, too, from a long time ago. This tea set is more than 500 years old. I couldn’t believe it. That lady, she didn’t even know it was worth that much. She just had it sittin’ on a shelf, collectin’ dust.
If you got one of these tea sets, you gotta take care of it. Don’t be puttin’ it in that dishwasher. You gotta wash it by hand, real gentle. And don’t use no harsh soap. Just warm water and a soft cloth. And dry it real good, so it don’t get them water spots.
Well, you got your teacups, of course. And them little plates, what do they call ’em? Saucers, that’s it. You put your cup on the saucer, so you don’t spill your tea all over the place. And you got your spoons, for stirrin’ in your sugar. And sometimes, there’s a bigger pot, for the tea. And a little one for cream, and another one for sugar. It’s a whole set, you see. Maybe five or six teacups, and the same for the saucers.
Gold White Scallop is good, I like it so much. It is so beautiful.
Well, I reckon that’s all I know ’bout them tea set white and gold. They’re pretty, they’re fancy, and they can be worth a lot of money. If you got one, you’re lucky. Just take care of it, and maybe one day, it’ll be worth a fortune. Or maybe you’ll just enjoy drinkin’ your tea out of it. Either way, it’s a nice thing to have.
