tea ceremony
Alright, so I got this idea the other day to mess around with tea tree oil and coconut oil. I’ve heard a bunch of stuff about how they’re good for your skin and hair, so I figured, why not give it a shot? I mean, I’m no expert or anything, but I like trying out new things, especially when it comes to DIY beauty stuff. It’s kinda fun, you know?
First things first, I had to grab the goods. I already had some coconut oil at home. We use it for cooking sometimes. And I just picked up a small bottle of tea tree oil from the local store. It smelled pretty strong, I gotta say. Once I had both oils, I was ready to roll up my sleeves.
I didn’t really know how much of each to use, so I just went with my gut. I scooped out about two tablespoons of the coconut oil and put it in a little bowl. Then, I carefully added like five drops of the tea tree oil. I figured it’s better to start with less since that stuff is potent. I stirred it all together with a spoon until it was nicely mixed. It looked pretty simple, just a clear, oily mixture. Not bad, not bad at all.
Since I heard these oils are good for acne, I decided to test it on my face. So, I washed my face with my normal cleanser and then patted it dry. Then I took a little bit of the oil mixture and gently rubbed it on my cheeks, where I have some annoying zits. It felt kinda greasy, but not too bad. I left it on for about 15 minutes. And I didn’t feel any uncomfortable sensations, which is a good thing, I guess.
Next up, I tried it on my hair. I’ve heard that coconut oil is like a miracle worker for dry hair, and tea tree oil can help with dandruff, which I sometimes get. So, I took some more of the mixture and massaged it into my scalp and all the way down to the ends of my hair. My hair is pretty long, so it took a while. I wrapped my hair in an old t-shirt and left it on for about an hour. I figured that would give it enough time to really soak in, you know?
After the time was up, I hopped in the shower to wash it all out. It took a couple of washes with my regular shampoo to get rid of the greasiness, especially in my hair. But eventually, it all came out. I let my hair air dry, just to see the natural results without using any heat.
Okay, so here’s the deal. After drying, my skin felt pretty soft, and it didn’t break out or anything, which is a plus. The spots where I had pimples didn’t magically disappear, but they didn’t look worse, so that’s something. As for my hair, it definitely felt smoother and less frizzy than usual. My scalp also felt less itchy. I guess the dandruff thing might take more time to really see a difference. But, I’ve got to say, it’s a simple and interesting experiment for me. I like it.
Overall, I’d say this little experiment was pretty successful. Nothing crazy happened, but it was cool to see how these two oils work together. I might keep using this mixture every now and then, especially for my hair. It’s a nice, natural alternative to some of the expensive hair masks out there. Plus, it’s kinda fun to play around with stuff like this and see what happens. You never know, you might just find your new favorite beauty hack!
And there you have it! My little tea tree and coconut oil adventure. Hope you found it interesting, or at least a little entertaining. Maybe you’ll even give it a try yourself!
