Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about tea tree oil lately, and how it’s supposed to be great for your hair. I was curious, so I decided to give it a try and make my own hair spray. Here’s how it went down:
First things first, I needed to get my hands on some stuff. I grabbed:
This part was super easy. I poured about a cup of the distilled water into the spray bottle. Then, I added about 5-7 drops of the tea tree oil. It’s pretty strong stuff, so you don’t want to overdo it. Since I had the lavender I put like 3 drops. Gave the bottle a good shake to mix everything together.
I was a little nervous at first, not gonna lie. I didn’t want to end up with greasy, smelly hair. I spritzed a little bit onto my dry hair, focusing on the roots and a bit on the ends. I massaged it in a little with my fingers.
It’s been a few days now, and I’m actually pretty happy with it! My scalp feels less itchy, which is a big win for me. My hair seems a little shinier, too, but not in a greasy way. It just looks… healthier, I guess. I used to wash my hair everyday, however after using this tea tree oil spray, I don’t have to wash it everyday, that’s amazing!
The smell is definitely noticeable – it’s that strong, medicinal tea tree scent – but it’s not overpowering, and mixing the lavender make things better. Plus, it fades after a while.
I’m definitely going to keep using this spray. It’s a cheap, easy way to add some tea tree oil goodness to my hair routine. I might even experiment with adding other essential oils in the future, just to see what happens. Who knows, maybe I’ll stumble upon the next big hair trend! Haha.
