Okay, so I’ve been hearing a lot about tea tree oil lately, and how it’s like this miracle natural remedy for everything. I got curious and did some digging, and turns out, a lot of dentists are recommending it for oral health. It’s got these natural antiseptic properties, which is supposed to be great for fighting off those nasty infections that can happen if you don’t take care of your mouth.

So, I decided to try making my own tea tree oil mouthwash. I found an old mouthwash bottle, washed it out real good, because, you know, hygiene. I figure, why not use something I already have, right? It’s better than throwing it away and buying a new bottle.

Mixing It Up

  • I started with a cup of warm water.
  • Then, I added about 5-6 drops of pure tea tree oil. I made sure it was the pure stuff, not some diluted thing.
  • A pinch of sea salt also joined in.
  • I closed the lid, gave it a good shake to mix everything up.

I swished it around in my mouth for like 30 seconds, making sure to get it all over, between my teeth and everything. Spit it out, did not rinse, and that was it.

Honestly, the taste takes some getting used to. It’s strong, kind of like a minty, medicinal flavor. But after a few days, I didn’t even notice it anymore. And my mouth? It felt cleaner, fresher. I noticed my gums seemed healthier, too. It’s like they were less red and puffy.

I’ve been using this homemade mouthwash for a couple of weeks now, and I’m pretty happy with the results. It’s a cheap, natural way to keep my mouth feeling good. Plus, it’s kind of cool to make your own stuff, you know? It feels good knowing exactly what’s going into your body.

Of course, this is just my personal experience. But if you’re looking for a natural alternative to regular mouthwash, I’d say give it a shot. Just remember to use pure tea tree oil and start with a small amount to see how you react to it.
