green tea
Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this Ten Ren Oolong tea. I ain’t no fancy tea expert or nothin’, but I know what I likes, and I likes this stuff.
What is this Ten Ren Oolong anyway?
First off, they call it “oolong,” sounds like some kinda’ dragon or somethin’. I heard tell it used to be called “Black Dragon” tea back in the day, ’cause the leaves was all dark and curly. Makes sense, I guess. Now, this Ten Ren, they make all sorts of these oolong teas. Some are dark, some are kinda’ green. I reckon it all depends on how long they bake it. The darker ones, they bake ’em longer, see?
Is it good for ya?
Now, some folks say tea is good for ya. I don’t know about all that science stuff, but I figure a cup or two ain’t gonna hurt nobody. I heard you shouldn’t drink too much, though. More than four cups a day, and you might get the jitters. It’s got that…what-cha-ma-call-it…caffeine in it. Like coffee, ya know? Ten Ren, they even make some without caffeine, but I heard it still got a little bit in it. So, I just stick to a few cups, that’s enough for this ol’ gal.
How much caffeine is in it, really?
Ten Ren’s Fifth Grade Dark Oolong: The Good Stuff
Now, this here Ten Ren’s Fifth Grade Dark Oolong, that’s the one I like. They say it comes from the middle of Taiwan, wherever that is. Fancy place, I reckon. It’s got a good strong taste, not like that weak stuff you get sometimes. It’s dark ’cause they bake it longer, see? I like to just sit on the porch with a cup of this stuff and watch the birds. It warms ya up on a cold day and cools ya down on a hot one. Don’t ask me how, it just does.
Brewin’ the perfect cup
Brewin’ it ain’t rocket science, ya know? Just boil some water, not too hot, not too cold. Pour it over the tea leaves, let it sit for a bit. How long? Well, that’s up to you. I like it strong, so I let it sit a good long while. If you like it weaker, take the leaves out sooner. It ain’t complicated. You can use a fancy teapot if you want, but I just use a regular ol’ cup. Works just fine.
Where to get it?
I get mine down at the store in town, but I reckon you can get it online too. Just search for Ten Ren Oolong, you’ll find it. They got all sorts of different kinds, but like I said, the Fifth Grade Dark is my favorite. You might like somethin’ else, though. Everybody’s got their own taste.
So, is it worth tryin’?
Well, I think so. It ain’t gonna cure what ails ya, but it’s a nice warm drink, and it tastes good. And that’s good enough for me. If you’re lookin’ for a new tea to try, give this Ten Ren Oolong a shot. You might just like it. And if you don’t, well, more for me, I say!
A little bit of history
I heard tell that oolong tea used to be called somethin’ else, but then folks started likin’ the loose leaf tea, the kind that ain’t in bags. And since them leaves was dark and long and curly, they started callin’ it “Black Dragon” tea. Then, later on, they changed the name to oolong. Don’t ask me why, folks do what they do. I just drink the stuff; I don’t make up the names.
It’s all about what you like.
Look, in the end, it’s all about what you like, right? Some folks like coffee, some folks like them fizzy drinks, and some folks like tea. And there’s all sorts of different teas out there. But for me, this Ten Ren Oolong, especially the Fifth Grade Dark, it hits the spot. It’s warm, it’s tasty, and it’s just plain comfortin’. So, go on, give it a try. You might just find your new favorite drink.
Just remember, don’t drink too much of it, or you’ll be jumpin’ around like a chicken with its head cut off. And nobody wants that, right? A few cups a day, that’s all you need. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go make myself another cup. All this talkin’ about tea has made me thirsty!
