Alright, let’s talk about this Tetley black tea, you know, the one in that box with the red letters. I ain’t no fancy tea expert or nothin’, just a regular person who likes a good cuppa.
First off, they say this tea is “black tea.” Well, I guess it is, it’s dark, not green like that fancy grass tea. And they say it’s got a nice color, “amber” they call it. Yeah, I guess it looks alright, kinda like the color of that old bottle my grandpa used to keep his moonshine in. It’s a good strong color, not weak and watery like some teas I’ve seen.
I saw somewhere you can get it at Target, in a big pack of 12 boxes, 80 bags in each. That’s a lot of tea! I usually just buy the small box, the one with the red letters, you know? Don’t need no whole store full of tea. I ain’t runnin’ no tea shop.
They also say this tea is good for you, that it don’t got many of them…what do you call ‘em…calories? Yeah, that’s it. They say it’s good if you don’t wanna get too big around the middle. Well, I drink it every day, and I ain’t exactly skinny, but I ain’t complaining. It keeps me warm in the winter and gives me something to sip on while I’m watchin’ my stories.
Now, I heard some folks talkin’ about a “taste test.” They had all sorts of teas, even that Aldi one, the one with the funny name. And wouldn’t you know it, Tetley did pretty good! Came in second, or maybe third, tied with some others. Guess that means it’s pretty good, huh? I always said it was.
They got this “British Blend,” they say it’s made with some special teas from far away, from some place called Kenya and another place called Assam. Sounds foreign, don’t it? They say it’s got a richer flavor than the regular kind. Well, I tried it once, and it was alright, I guess. Stronger, maybe. But I still like my regular Tetley, the one in the red box. It’s good enough for me.
And that “Classic Blend”? They say that’s the “everyday” tea. Well, that’s what I drink every day, so I guess that’s me, an “everyday” kinda gal. I don’t need nothin’ fancy. Just a good cup of tea to start my day and keep me goin’. And this Tetley, it does the trick.
Oh, and they also make that iced tea, they call it. Never tried it. I like my tea hot, the way it’s supposed to be. Iced tea? That’s just watered-down sugar water, far as I’m concerned. You young folks like that stuff, but I’ll stick to my hot Tetley, thank you very much.
Now, about that…caffeine stuff. They say there’s some of that in there. Enough to wake you up, but not too much to make you jittery. Sounds about right. I drink a cup in the morning, and I’m ready to go. Don’t need no fancy coffee or nothin’.
And where do they get this tea from? China, they say. That’s a long way away. Never been there myself. But I guess they know how to grow tea over there. Good for them. And good for me, too, since I get to drink it.
So, there you have it. My thoughts on Tetley black tea. It ain’t fancy, it ain’t complicated, it’s just…tea. Good, strong tea that gets me goin’ in the mornin’ and keeps me warm in the winter. And that’s all I need. It’s a good, honest cuppa, and that’s more than you can say for some things these days. So, if you’re lookin’ for a good cup of tea, give Tetley a try. You might just like it.
