Today, I felt like having something different, so I decided to make some Thai green milk tea. I’ve never made it before, but how hard could it be, right?
First, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I already had some green tea leaves at home, which was a good start. I also grabbed some milk from the fridge and some sugar from the cupboard. I figured I’d need something to sweeten it up since I like my drinks a little on the sweet side.
I boiled some water in a pot – pretty standard procedure. Then, I threw in a good amount of the green tea leaves. I didn’t really measure, just eyeballed it. I let that steep for a while, maybe about 5 minutes, until the water turned a nice, vibrant green color. It smelled pretty good, very fresh and grassy.
After that, I strained the tea leaves out using a small strainer I found in the kitchen drawer. Next, it was time to add the milk. I poured in a decent amount, not too much, not too little. I just wanted that creamy texture without it being too milky. Then I added a few spoonfuls of sugar and stirred it all up until the sugar dissolved completely.
I poured the mixture into a glass filled with ice. It looked pretty good, the color was a nice pale green. I took a sip, and it was actually really good! A bit sweet, a bit milky, with that unique green tea flavor. Definitely a refreshing drink, perfect for a warm afternoon.
So yeah, that’s how I made Thai green milk tea. It was a fun little experiment, and I’ll definitely be making it again soon.
