- The Ultimate Guide to Lemon Brisk Iced Tea (Everything You Need to Know)
tea set
Well, let me tell you, that lemon brisk iced tea, it’s somethin’ else. I remember when they first started sellin’ it in the stores, folks ’round here couldn’t get enough. It’s like that sweet tea, but with a little somethin’ extra, you know? That lemon just kicks it up a notch.
Now, I ain’t no fancy cook, but I’ve made my own a time or two. Ain’t nothin’ to it, really. You just gotta get yourself some good tea bags. And you gotta have lemons, real ones, not that bottled stuff. The real lemons make the tea taste good, like sunshine.
First, you gotta boil up some water, lots of it. Throw in them tea bags. Let ’em sit there for a good long while, like an hour or more. The longer it sits, the stronger it gets, just like my old grandpa used to say. Then, when it’s all cooled down a bit, you pour it into a big ol’ pitcher.
Then comes the sugar. Oh, honey, you gotta have sugar in your lemon brisk iced tea. I like mine sweet, real sweet. So I dump in a bunch. Mix it all up real good till it’s all dissolved and gone. Then, you squeeze in that lemon juice. That’s the secret, right there. That’s what makes it brisk, I reckon. It tastes like real lemons. I love that smell. It’s like summer in a glass.
Some folks like to add other things, I hear. Fancy things. I say, keep it simple. Tea, water, sugar, lemon. That’s all you need for a good lemon brisk iced tea. But some folks like to put in some other stuff. That is okay too, I guess. You make it how you like it. That is what is important.
I like to drink mine on the porch, watchin’ the sun go down. It’s so refreshin’ on a hot day. Better than any soda pop, that’s for sure. And it’s easy to make a big batch, so you can share it with your neighbors. That’s what I always do. Everybody loves it. They say it’s the best iced tea they ever had.
Now, this lemon brisk iced tea, it’s got that zing, you know? It’s not just sweet, it’s got that tartness from the lemon. And it’s cold, so cold. Perfect for a hot summer day. I like to put lots of ice in mine. Makes it even better.
I seen them sellin’ it in cans now, too. All different kinds. But nothin’ beats homemade, I always say. You know what’s in it. Just good, simple ingredients. No strange stuff you can’t even pronounce. That stuff is not good for you, I think.
This ain’t no fancy drink, this lemon brisk iced tea. It’s just good ol’ fashioned refreshment. The kind that makes you feel good inside. The kind that makes you think of summer days and front porches and good company. That is what makes it so good. It reminds me of being with family and friends.
Sometimes I make a big pitcher of it for the potluck at church. Everyone loves it. It’s real good with fried chicken and potato salad. They always ask me for the recipe, but I just tell them it’s tea, sugar, lemon, and a whole lotta love. They laugh, but it’s true. You gotta put love into it.
I remember one time, I made a batch for a family picnic. It was so hot that day, hotter than a firecracker. We were all sweatin’ like pigs. That lemon brisk iced tea was a lifesaver
