This Twinings Oolong, what’s that all about? I heard people talking, saying it’s some fancy tea. Well, tea is tea, right? But they say this one is special. They say it comes from far away, from those places with funny names, like China, and Indonesia, and Taiwan, wherever that is. Sounds like a long way to go for a cup of tea if you ask me.

They say you can drink this oolong tea every day. Every single day! Just like that. Well, I guess you can drink any tea every day if you got enough of it. But they act like this is a big deal. Say it’s good for you, this oolong. Like regular tea ain’t good for you.

They say all them teas, black, green, white, and this oolong, got something in ’em called… anti-something. Antioxidants. Sounds like a fancy word for something that makes you healthy. My bones ache, maybe I need some of that anti-whatever. Don’t know if it’ll help my old bones but I sure drink it.

They say this Twinings Oolong got that stuff that makes you stay awake, too. What’s it called? Caffeine. Less than coffee, they say. Well, I like my coffee strong, but sometimes it keeps me up all night staring at the ceiling. Maybe this oolong is better. Keeps you awake but not too awake.

  • This oolong tea, it’s like a mystery to me.
  • They say it is made from the leaves of some plant.
  • Camellia Sinensis.
  • What a mouthful!
  • They say it is every bit as good for you.

They make a big fuss about how they make this Twinings Oolong tea, too. Seems like it’s a lot of work. Not like just picking leaves and drying them in the sun. They say it takes “skill” and “attention to detail.” What is this “detail”? I don’t know. I guess it’s a special way to pick leaves. Fancy folks and their fancy ways, I reckon.

This one kind of oolong tea, it’s called, now get this, “Iron Goddess of Mercy.” What kind of name is that for a tea? Sounds like something out of a storybook. Maybe it’s strong like iron, I don’t know. Mercy, I could use some mercy on these old bones! Maybe this tea will give me some of that, too.

Folks are always looking for the best stuff, I guess. They read them reviews and try to find the best sellers of this Twinings Oolong. More than a million people looking for it. That many people can’t be wrong, can they? It’s a lot of people drinking tea.

They say this oolong ain’t like black tea, which they say is… oxidized. And it ain’t like green tea, which ain’t oxidized at all. This oolong is somewhere in the middle, I guess. Like the middle child, not getting too much attention, but still good in its own way.

This Twinings, they been around a long time, too. Over 300 years. That’s older than dirt! They must know something about tea if they been doing it that long. They say they make a unique blend. Whatever that means. Probably just means it tastes different from other teas.

They say this Twinings Oolong is warm and tasty. Well, most tea is warm, ain’t it? Unless you let it get cold, which I sometimes do. Forget it’s there, then it’s all cold and no good. But I guess if it’s tasty, that’s good. Nobody wants a tea that tastes like dirt, not even me.

  • Over 300 years of know-how, they say.
  • That’s a long time to know about tea.
  • They call it a unique blend.
  • Whatever that means.

So, this Twinings Oolong, it’s a tea from far away. It’s got that anti-something stuff. It’s got caffeine but not too much. It’s made special. It’s got a funny name, like “Iron Goddess of Mercy.” A lot of people like it. It’s not black tea, not green tea, but something in between. And it’s been around for a long, long time. Sounds like something worth trying, I suppose. Maybe I’ll get me some and see what all the fuss is about. Might do these old bones some good.

I guess I’ll go find some of this oolong tea, there are a lot of products out there to choose from. Lots of brands and things. Maybe the Iron Goddess one. Sounds strong. Maybe it’ll make me strong, too. An old woman can dream, can’t she?
