Okay, here is the article about “twisted tea bags”:
You know, I heard some folks talking ’bout these twisted tea bags the other day. I said, “What in tarnation is that?” Sounds a bit crazy to me, but I’m always up for learnin’ somethin’ new, even at my age. So, I did a little lookin’ around, and here’s what I found out about these things.
Well, it seems like this twisted tea ain’t your regular tea. It’s got that alcohol kick, you see. They say it’s like regular iced tea, but with a little somethin’ extra. They call it “hard iced tea.” Some folks like it, I reckon, ’cause they’re sellin’ a whole bunch of it. And they say it tastes a lot like the iced tea we all know. So maybe it ain’t so bad after all.
I saw these twisted tea bags are big, like, real big. One of ’em is like drinkin’ 14 regular teas! That’s a lot of tea, even for me, and I love my tea. They got this little spout thing on ’em, so you can pour it easy. I guess that’s good for parties or somethin’. These youngsters and their parties.
They got all kinds of flavors, these twisted tea bags. The main one, they call it “Original.” It’s just regular tea with some lemon, but with that alcohol twist. I also heard that they have this “Half and Half.” It’s the Original one, but they put lemonade in it. I guess that’s for folks who like lemonade, too. And they make it from real tea, not that fake stuff. That’s good, I suppose. Natural is always better. Even that lemon flavor is natural, not chemical.
And it ain’t stoppin’, not by a long shot. They keep makin’ more of this stuff. They’re even gonna make more in the next few months. Guess folks really like this twisted tea. It’s a big hit, especially in the warm weather. People drinkin’ it up like there’s no tomorrow. They sell it all year round, too. Not just in the summer. Any time is twisted tea time, I guess. And they say it’s 5% alcohol. Don’t know what that means exactly, but it’s probably enough to get you a little tipsy.
One more thing I noticed is the colors. These twisted tea bags, they got bright colors. Not like some of them other drinks that are all plain lookin’. These ones, they stand out. Makes ’em look fun, I guess. Like a party in a bag. Or maybe just a fun day sittin’ in the yard, sippin’ on some tea, that’s my idea of a party. I guess those bright colors make it easy to spot these things in the store, too. Marketing, they call it. Smart cookies, those people are. They made sure their tea is what everyone wants.
And they got these coolers, too. Special ones for the twisted tea. You can fit 12 cans of these things in one cooler. That’s a lot of drinks! I don’t know why anyone needs that many, but I guess some folks like to be prepared. Always ready for a good time, those people.
So, there you have it. That’s what I learned about these twisted tea bags. It’s somethin’ different, that’s for sure. Might not be for everyone, but some folks seem to like it. Maybe I’ll try it one day, just to see what all the fuss is about. But for now, I think I’ll stick to my regular tea. No twist needed.
