Okay, so, I tried making black tea light candles today, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience! I’ve always been into relaxing stuff, you know, like finding ways to chill out after a long day. I heard that making candles could be one of them, so I thought, why not?

First, I gathered all the materials. I got some black tea, because that’s the star of the show, some soy wax flakes, candle wicks, and some essential oils. It’s like a tiny list of ingredients to make this candle magic happen. And, I had some small glass jars from before, and I just reused them. It’s a cheap and cool way. I also found some old crayons to add a bit of color, just for fun. I wanted my candles to look pretty, not just smell good.

Then, I started melting the wax. I used a double boiler, which is basically just a fancy way of saying I put a heat-proof bowl over a pot of boiling water. It took a while, but I wanted to make sure it all melted smoothly. While that was happening, I brewed some strong black tea. Oh boy, the smell was amazing! It almost made me want to stop and have a tea break right then and there.

Once the wax was all melted, I mixed in the brewed tea and a few drops of essential oils. I chose lavender because it’s super relaxing. I think it’s everyone’s favorite. Then, I carefully poured the hot wax into the jars, making sure the wicks were standing straight up. I used some chopsticks to keep them in place. Looked pretty funny, but it worked!

I added a pinch of loose tea leaves on top of each candle for decoration. It’s just some little things that make the candles different. Also, I melted down some old crayons and drizzled them over the top. I wanted the candles to have some kind of special vibe, you know? They looked so cool with those colorful swirls!

After that, it was just a waiting game. I left the candles to cool down and harden for a few hours. It was tough, but I managed to resist the urge to touch them. I mean, I really wanted to. I did other things to keep my mind off it, like watching a movie and stuff. Finally, after what felt like forever, they were ready!

The Result

  • Smell: They smelled amazing! The black tea and lavender combo was perfect. It was like having a spa in my living room.
  • Look: They looked super cute! The crayon swirls on top gave them a unique touch.
  • Relaxing: Lighting them up definitely created a relaxing atmosphere. It was the perfect way to unwind after a stressful day.

So yeah, that’s how my black tea light candle-making adventure went. It was fun, a bit messy, but totally worth it. If you’re looking for a way to relax and get creative, I’d say give it a shot! Making stuff with your hands just hits different, you know? And it really helps you unwind and forget about work. It’s not just about the candles, but the whole process. It’s like, you’re doing something just for you, to chill out and feel good. And at the end, you have these awesome candles that make your place smell amazing and look cool. I hope you enjoy it.
