fruit tea
Okay, so the other day I was craving something refreshing, and I had this big watermelon sitting on my counter. I also really like green tea, so I thought, “Why not combine them?” It sounded like a good idea at the time. Let me tell you how it went.
First, I grabbed that watermelon and chopped it in half. It was one of those big ones, so I only needed half of it. I scooped out all the juicy red flesh and dumped it into my blender. I didn’t bother picking out the seeds, figuring the blender could handle them.
Next, I brewed some green tea. I just used a couple of tea bags and let them steep in hot water for, like, five minutes. Nothing fancy, just regular green tea. Once it was ready, I took out the tea bags and let the tea cool down a bit. I didn’t want to put hot tea in the blender with the watermelon, you know?
Once the tea was a bit cooler, I poured it into the blender with the watermelon. Then I just blended everything up until it was nice and smooth. It turned into this pretty pinkish-green liquid. It looked kind of weird, but I was still hopeful.
I poured some of the mixture into a glass and took a sip. Honestly, it wasn’t as amazing as I’d imagined. The watermelon flavor was there, but the green tea was kind of…subtle. It needed something more.
I added a squeeze of lime juice. That helped a lot! It gave it a nice little zing. Then, because it wasn’t quite sweet enough, I stirred in a bit of honey. I kept tasting and adding until it was just right. Much better! You learn as you go, right? Practice makes perfect.
So, yeah, that’s how I made watermelon green tea. It wasn’t perfect the first time, but with a little tweaking, it turned out pretty good! I’ll probably try it again sometime, maybe with different kinds of tea or fruit. It’s all about experimenting, I guess.
