I saw someone posted about this tea kettle online the other day, the whistling one, and I thought, “Hey, that looks pretty cool!” It’s white and looks clean and simple. My old kettle is kinda rusty and gross, so I figured it was time for an upgrade. Plus, I really love the idea of a whistling kettle. It’s like, old-fashioned and charming, you know?
So I searched for “whistling tea kettle white” online. There were a bunch of options, but I narrowed it down based on the ones that had good reviews and looked like they were made of decent materials. A lot of them seemed to be stainless steel, which is great because it won’t rust like my old one. Some brands I noticed were SUSTEAS and BELANKO. I also saw one by Emeril Lagasse, the chef guy.
I looked at different stores, like the websites that sell cookware and stuff. There’s also some website called eBay and they sell used stuff or overstock, I found a Copco white enamel whistling tea kettle there. The prices were all over the place, from around $20 to over $50.
After comparing a few, I ended up going with a stainless steel one that had a wide mouth for easy filling and an ergonomic handle. It was about $29, which seemed like a good deal. Plus, it had great reviews, so I felt pretty confident about my choice. I wanted one that would last and wouldn’t be a pain to use.
The kettle arrived a few days later, and I was excited to try it out. I washed it out first, of course. Then I filled it with water and put it on the stove. I waited, and sure enough, when the water started boiling, it whistled! It was such a satisfying sound. I guess it’s a hole at the start of the whistle where the steam comes out the kettle’s spout. I didn’t burn my hand with the steam or anything.
I’ve been using my new kettle for a while now, and I love it! It heats up water quickly, the whistle is loud enough to hear from another room, and it’s easy to pour. Plus, it looks really nice on my stovetop. It’s a simple thing, but it makes my morning tea routine a little more enjoyable. And I don’t have to worry about forgetting about the water and having it all boil away. That used to happen with my old kettle because I would get distracted, which could have been a safety issue. People online said whistling tea kettles are a safer option if you get distracted a lot. I also saw that Le Creuset has a Classic Whistling Kettle that people really like. It has a fold-down handle and is easy to clean. But I’m really happy with the one I got!
