black tea
Okay, so I’ve been seeing “White Earl Grey” tea popping up everywhere, and, you know, I gotta try everything at least once. So, I grabbed a box – figured, why not?
First things first, I boiled some water. I usually just use my electric kettle because it’s, like, super convenient. While that was heating up, I found my favorite mug – it’s this big, oversized one that just feels cozy, you know?
I opened the box and took out a tea bag. It smelled pretty interesting – kinda like regular Earl Grey, but…lighter? Less intense, maybe? I put the tea bag in my mug and once the water was ready, I poured it in.
I use filtered water, it’s better for the taste of tea.
The box said to steep it for 3-5 minutes. Honestly, I’m super impatient, so I usually go for the shorter end of things. I set a timer on my phone for 3 minutes, ’cause who has time to just stare at a mug of tea, right?
After 3 minutes, I have * tastes a bit too weak, so I’ll steep it for 5 minutes next time.
I added a tiny splash of milk – I always do that with Earl Grey, it’s just how I like it. And…yeah, it was pretty good! Definitely different from regular Earl Grey. It’s, like, the chill, laid-back cousin of the classic. I can see myself drinking this in the afternoon when I want something a little less bold.
So, that’s my little White Earl Grey experiment. Not bad, not bad at all. I give the thumbs up!
