Okay, so I decided to host a little tea party. Nothing fancy, just a few friends over for some chit-chat and, of course, tea. I’d seen these elegant tea parties online with ladies wearing white gloves, and I thought, “Why not? Let’s add a touch of class!”

Finding the Gloves

First things first, I needed the gloves. I started by rummaging through my drawers, hoping maybe, just maybe, I’d magically have a pair tucked away. No luck. So, I hit up a few local stores. The first couple were a bust – nothing but winter gloves or gardening gloves. Finally, I found a costume shop that had some simple white cotton gloves. Perfect!

The Tea Party Prep

With the gloves acquired, I started prepping for the party. I baked some scones (which were a little lopsided, but hey, they tasted good!), made some cucumber sandwiches, and brewed a big pot of Earl Grey tea. I set the table with my nicest china (okay, it’s not real china, but it looks pretty!) and made sure everything was just so.

Glove Time!

When my friends arrived, I presented them with the gloves. We had a good laugh putting them on – it felt a bit silly at first, but we quickly got into the spirit of things. We sipped our tea (pinkies out, naturally!), nibbled on our snacks, and chatted away.

The Verdict

  • Putting on the white gloves. We felt very fancy.
  • Holding the small cups with white gloved hands. It added to the feeling.
  • Everyone enjoyed it. I will do it again.

Honestly, wearing the white gloves did add a certain something to the tea party. It made it feel a little more special, a little more…proper. Will I do it every time? Probably not. But for a fun, themed get-together, it was definitely worth it. Plus, it made for some great photos!
