White hibiscus tea, oh, that’s a fancy name. It is just some flower water, you know? But folks say it’s good for you. I heard it’s from dried petals of that hibiscus flower, sounds like a mouthful, huh?
They put it in bags, call it tea bags. Some brand, Republic of Tea or something like that, sells it. They say it is the best. Best for what, I don’t know. Maybe it’s really good, maybe it’s just expensive water.
This white hibiscus tea, they say it can make your blood pressure go down. That’s what they all say. I don’t know if it works. But my neighbor, she drinks it every day, and she’s still kicking! But they also said it’s bad for you. I heard some people, they get itchy skin, headaches, feel like throwing up, and their ears ring. Sounds like a mess to me.
If you’re allergic to it or that Malvaceae plant, whatever that is, just don’t drink it. Don’t mess with allergies, that’s what I always say.
But, if you still want to drink it, this flower tea, I hear you gotta do some things to make the white hibiscus tea. First, wash those flowers and leaves with cold water. Get all that dirt and bugs off. You don’t want to drink bugs, do you? Then, you gotta pull off that green thingy, the calyx they call it, from the flower. Throw away the stamen and pistil, those little things inside. I don’t know what they are, but they say you don’t need them.
This white hibiscus tea, well, it ain’t my cup of tea, if you know what I mean. I stick to my regular tea, the one that doesn’t make my head spin. But young people these days, they like all these fancy drinks. They say it’s healthy. Maybe it is, maybe it ain’t. I don’t know.
I seen these hibiscus flowers in my garden, big and pretty. Never thought of making tea out of them. Maybe I should try it sometime, this white hibiscus tea. But then again, who has the time for all that washing and pulling?
Seems like a lot of work for a cup of tea. But hey, if it makes you feel good, then go for it. This white hibiscus tea might be the best thing since sliced bread, who knows? Not me. I am just saying what I heard, you know?
Some folks say it tastes good, this white hibiscus tea. Fruity, they say. I guess flowers can be fruity. I like fruit, but in my tea? I don’t know about that. But everyone’s different, right? What one person likes, another person might not.
This Republic of Tea, they sell all kinds of tea. Green tea, black tea, white hibiscus tea. You name it, they got it. Must be making a lot of money selling all that tea. Good for them, I guess. People like their tea, and they’re willing to pay for it.
My neighbor, she swears by this white hibiscus tea. Says it helps her sleep. I don’t know, maybe it does. I just take a little nap when I’m tired. Don’t need no fancy tea to help me sleep. But she says it works for her, so that’s good.
I saw on the TV, they were talking about white hibiscus tea. Some doctor was on there, saying it’s good for your heart. Keeps your blood pressure in check, he said. Maybe he’s right, maybe he’s not. Doctors say a lot of things. Sometimes they’re right, sometimes they’re wrong.
Anyway, this white hibiscus tea, it’s all the rage these days. Everyone’s drinking it. Except me, of course. I’m too old for these newfangled drinks. I’ll stick to my regular tea, thank you very much. But if you’re young and adventurous, maybe you should give it a try. You never know, you might like it.
If you like flowers, you may like the tea. If you like fruit, you might like the tea. If you are willing to wash and pull, you might like the tea.
But if you get itchy, or headache, or feel sick, don’t say I did not tell you. Some people, their body just don’t like it. And that is ok. My body does not like it either. But that is ok.
So if you want to try, go ahead. Just remember to wash it good. If you do not want to try, that is ok too. You can drink what you like. I like my tea, the old kind. It is good for me, I think.
