Today, I felt like trying something new, so I decided to make some white lotus tea. I’ve heard a lot about it and how it can be good for you, like helping with digestion and stuff. Plus, it sounded kind of fancy, so why not?

First, I got my hands on some white lotus leaves. I read somewhere that this tea is all about mental purity and being chill, which is something I could definitely use more of. I also found out that there’s a red lotus flower, which is more about compassion, but today, it’s all about the white lotus.

  • Gathering the Leaves: I found a place that sells these leaves. Seemed legit.
  • Washing Them: Gave them a good rinse under the tap. You never know.
  • Drying: I laid the leaves out on a clean towel to dry. Took a while, but I wasn’t in a rush.

Brewing Time

Once the leaves were dry, it was time to brew. I boiled some water, put some leaves in a teapot, and poured the hot water over them. I let it steep for, like, 5 minutes? I just eyeballed it, to be honest.

The smell was… interesting. Kind of earthy, but also a bit floral. I poured myself a cup and took a sip. Honestly, it wasn’t bad. It was kind of like a light, slightly sweet green tea but with a different kind of vibe to it. I closed my eyes for a second, trying to feel all zen, like the tea was supposed to make me.

I’ve been drinking it for a few days now. I can’t say I’ve noticed any major changes, like suddenly losing a ton of weight, but my stomach does feel a bit better. Maybe it’s the fiber I read about. Or maybe it’s just the placebo effect. Either way, it’s been a nice little experiment. It’s also caffeine-free, so that’s a plus.

All in all, making and drinking white lotus tea has been a chill experience. It’s not something I’d do every day, but it’s definitely a nice change of pace. Plus, it makes me feel a little bit more cultured, you know? Like I’m in on some ancient secret or something. If you’re looking for a new tea to try, and you’re into the whole relaxation, spiritual purity thing, then give it a shot. You might like it!
