Okay, so the other day I was messing around in my kitchen, trying to whip up something new, and I thought, why not try making a perfume? I’ve always been into those fresh, clean scents, you know, the ones that make you feel like you just stepped out of a spa. So, I decided to go with white tea and ginger – it just sounded so refreshing!

Getting Started

First off, I gotta say, this was totally a spur-of-the-moment thing. I grabbed some white tea leaves from my stash – I usually drink this stuff, it’s super chill. Then I got some fresh ginger from the fridge, ’cause who doesn’t love a bit of zing? I figured these two would be a killer combo.

Chopping and Brewing

I started by brewing a strong pot of white tea. I mean, really strong. Like, I used way more tea leaves than I normally would for a cup. While that was steeping, I chopped up the ginger. Now, I didn’t go crazy, just a few slices, because ginger can be pretty overpowering. I wanted that nice balance, you feel me?

Mixing It Up

Once the tea was ready and cooled down, I strained it to get rid of the leaves. Then came the fun part – mixing! I added the ginger slices to the tea and let them hang out there for a while. I was aiming for that subtle hint of ginger, not a full-on ginger blast. I also tossed in a bit of orange zest ’cause I had some lying around, and I thought, “Why the heck not?” It added this extra citrusy kick that I was totally digging.

The Waiting Game

After mixing, I poured the whole concoction into this old spray bottle I had. Then came the hard part – waiting. I let it sit for, like, a day or two. I wanted all those flavors to really get to know each other, you know? It was tough, I’m not gonna lie, I was super curious to see how it turned out.

Final Touches

Finally, I took it out and gave it a whiff. It was pretty good, but something was missing. It needed a little something extra. So I added a few drops of some essential oil I had – bergamot, I think it was? Just to round it out. And bam! It was perfect. Fresh, a bit spicy, and just a hint of sweet.

Spritzing Away

I’ve been wearing this homemade perfume for a few days now, and I gotta say, I’m loving it. It’s not too strong, just enough to make you go, “Hmm, what’s that nice smell?” Plus, it’s kinda cool to say you made it yourself, right?

  • Brew strong white tea
  • Chop some ginger
  • Mix tea and ginger (plus orange zest if you’re feeling it)
  • Let it sit for a couple of days
  • Add a drop of essential oil if you want
  • Enjoy your new scent!

So, that’s my little adventure in making white tea and ginger perfume. It was fun, a bit messy, but totally worth it. If you’re into DIY stuff and like smelling good, give it a shot! Who knows, you might come up with your own signature scent. Peace out!
