white tea
Okay, let’s talk about this “white tea and ginger” thing. I’ve been wanting to make my own scented stuff for a while, you know, like candles and sprays. Something fresh, not too sweet, just clean and relaxing. I heard someone mention white tea and ginger, and it sounded right up my alley. So, I decided to give it a shot.
First, I looked up some recipes online. Most of them were just mixing essential oils, but I wanted to try something a bit more… authentic, I guess? So I decided to use actual white tea and fresh ginger.
I grabbed some loose-leaf white tea I had in my cupboard – silver needle, if you’re curious – and a big knob of ginger. I boiled some water, poured it over a few tablespoons of the tea and some thinly sliced ginger in a heat-proof jar. I let that steep for a good long while, like an hour or two, until the water turned a nice amber color and smelled amazing.
Honestly, I’m pretty stoked with how it turned out! The scent is exactly what I was hoping for. It’s light, refreshing, with a subtle hint of spice from the ginger. I’ve been spraying it around my apartment, and it just makes everything feel so much calmer and more inviting. I also tried using it on my fabric, and I can tell that the smell is quite satisfying.
I might try experimenting with different ratios of tea and ginger next time, maybe even add some other things like citrus peels or herbs. But for now, I’m happy with my little homemade white tea and ginger spray. It’s a simple thing, but it really makes a difference in my space.
