white tea
Okay, here’s my post about making a white tea and sage body spray:
So, I’ve been wanting to make my own body spray for a while now. You know, something that smells good but isn’t full of crazy chemicals. I saw a bunch of recipes online, but a lot of them were kinda complicated or had ingredients I didn’t have. I was browsing Bath & Body Works, and they have some signature collection with nice scents, but they are not cheap! I thought, why not try something simple with white tea and sage? I mean, white tea has this clean, fresh smell, and sage is all herby and earthy. It seemed like a good combo.
First, I grabbed some strong white tea. I found some information that says the white tea scent has a clean, fresh vibe, and it comes from the white tea plant. So, I thought that was a good start.
I boiled some water and brewed the tea, making it super strong. Like, I used a few tea bags for just a little bit of water. I wanted that scent to really come through, you know? After brewing, I let it cool down completely. I didn’t want to burn myself later, haha. Then, I got some fresh sage from my little herb garden. If you don’t have fresh sage, I guess dried would work too, but fresh is always better, right?
I took a handful of sage leaves and crushed them a little bit in my hands. This helps release the oils and the scent. Then I put the crushed sage leaves into a jar and poured the cooled white tea over them. I put a lid on the jar and gave it a good shake. I left it in a cool, dark place for about a week. The idea was to let the tea and sage do their thing, and let the scent of the sage infuse into the tea. Every day, I would take the jar out and give it another good shake, just to mix things up.
After a week, I strained the mixture through a coffee filter to get rid of the sage leaves. I was left with this light brown liquid that smelled amazing! It was like walking through a herb garden after the rain. I added a little bit of alcohol into the mixture.
Finally, I poured the mixture into a spray bottle I got. And that’s it! I had my own homemade white tea and sage body spray. I spritzed some on, and it was so refreshing. It wasn’t overpowering like some store-bought sprays, but it had this subtle, calming scent that lasted for a few hours. And it was nice, knowing that I made it myself with just a few simple ingredients. I saw on Amazon that they always sell Bath & Body Works products, but why buy when you can make your own, right?
Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:
It’s not exactly rocket science, but it was a fun little project. And now I have a body spray that I love, and I know exactly what’s in it. Plus, it’s way cheaper than buying a brand new one from a body care shop! I would say this calming and delightful scent is perfect for all seasons. If you’re looking for a simple, natural body spray, give this a try. You might be surprised at how easy it is! I might experiment with other scents in the future. Maybe some lemon and floral? The possibilities are endless!
