Hey, guys! So, I’ve been trying to up my hand-washing game lately, and I stumbled upon this awesome combo: white tea and sage. I decided to make my own hand soap with these two, and let me tell you, it’s been a game-changer! Here’s how I did it.
First, I did some digging on what’s so great about white tea. Turns out, it’s a real skin-saver. It helps reduce inflammation and can even help your skin recover from sunburn. I also read it’s good for fighting off bacteria and dealing with acne. That’s a win-win in my book!
Then I looked into what makes a good hand soap. I learned that the key ingredients are these things called surfactants. The most common ones are Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). They basically break down all the oil and dirt on your hands. But there are also other ingredients that are super important, like glycerin and shea butter. I found out that these ingredients help to keep your skin hydrated and lock in moisture. I figured those are a must-have, especially in a hand soap you use all the time.
Next, I had to figure out how to actually make the soap. I thought, why not go for a foaming soap? It’s fun to use and feels really luxurious. So, I looked for a recyclable carton that I could use to refill my foaming hand soap dispenser. That way, I’m not constantly buying new plastic bottles. Plus, one carton gives you a ton of pumps – like over 600! That’s way more than a regular bottle.
And there you have it! My very own homemade white tea and sage hand soap. I also found that some products add honey and aloe for soothing, which I might try next time.
I saw some ready-made ones in stores. There’s this one from Bath & Body Works that’s got white tea, sage, fresh tea, lemon, and herbs. It comes in a set of five mini bottles for like 35 bucks. They also have a two-pack for around 16 bucks, and it even has free shipping. So if you’re not into making your own, those are pretty good options.
I’ve been using it for a few days now, and I’m loving it. My hands feel clean, but not stripped dry, and the scent is just so refreshing. I encourage you to try and make it, too!
