green tea
Okay, so I wanted to try making a room spray, ’cause why not? I saw this “white tea and sage” thing online and it sounded kinda nice, so I went for it. First off, I grabbed some white tea bags from my kitchen. I just used the regular ones I drink. Then, I got some fresh sage from the grocery store – the smell was already pretty strong, which was cool.
I boiled some water in a pot, like I was making tea. Once it was bubbling, I tossed in a few tea bags and a bunch of sage leaves. I let that simmer for a bit, maybe 10 or 15 minutes? I wasn’t really timing it. I just wanted the water to soak up all the tea and sage goodness. After a while, I turned off the stove and let it cool down.
Once the mixture was cool enough, I strained it using a regular kitchen strainer to get rid of the leaves and tea bags. Then came the tricky part – I needed to get this into a spray bottle. I found an old, empty one that I cleaned out. Using a funnel (which I almost forgot about, whoops), I poured the liquid into the bottle. It was a bit messy, but I managed.
I sprayed it around my living room, and it actually smelled pretty good! It wasn’t too strong, but it was definitely there. It’s got this herby, fresh scent with a hint of that lavender I added. I’m not sure how long it’ll last, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s not exactly like the store-bought stuff, but hey, I made it myself, and that’s kinda cool, right?
I might try a different thing next time, maybe use some other herbs. Who knows?
