Okay, so I’ve been on this huge kick lately of making my afternoons feel a little fancier. You know, like taking a break from work and actually enjoying a cup of tea instead of just gulping it down at my desk. So, I decided I needed some pretty teacups to complete the whole experience. I went down a rabbit hole looking for “white tea cups with gold trim” – I had a very specific vision!

First, I scoured online shops. I spent, I don’t know, maybe two hours just browsing? It was relaxing, actually. Kind of like window shopping, but from my couch.

  • Checked out some big department stores. They had some nice ones, but nothing that really screamed “me.”
  • Looked on the platforms where people sell handmade stuff. Found some gorgeous cups, but they were, like, way out of my budget.
  • Even tried some auction sites. That was an adventure! Found some vintage sets, but I was worried about them being chipped or damaged.

After all that online searching, I decided to get out of the house. I figured maybe a local antique store or a cute little boutique might have what I was looking for.

I hit up a couple of antique shops. The first one was a bust – mostly old furniture and dusty knick-knacks. The second one, though, had a whole shelf of teacups! I rummaged through them, carefully checking each one. I finally spotted a set of four white cups with this delicate gold trim around the rim and the handle. They were perfect! And, bonus, they were a really reasonable price.

I snatched them up, of course. And I also grabbed a cute little teapot that matched pretty well. I was so excited to get home and try them out!

When I used them, I boiled some water, steeped my favorite tea. Then, I poured the tea into one of my new cups. I have to say, it did make the whole experience feel so much more special. Sipping tea from a beautiful cup – it’s the little things, you know?

The Result

It is so perfect! The project for the teacup is successful!
