green tea
Alright, let me tell ya ’bout this white tea stuff. They say it’s made from the tender buds and young leaves of some plant, somethin’ called Camellia sinensis. Fancy name, ain’t it? Sounds like somethin’ a city slicker would say.
Now, they call it one of them delicate teas. Delicate, my foot! They say it’s ’cause they don’t mess with it much, minimally processed they call it. Guess that’s why it’s supposed to be good for ya.
And get this, they’re makin’ white tea shots now! Vodka, peach schnapps, and a couple other things. Sounds like a waste of good tea to me, but folks these days, they mix everything with booze.
This tea’s got things called catechins, tannins, and fluoride. Don’t ask me what they do, but apparently, they’re good for ya. All them fancy words, I tell ya. It’s enough to make your head spin.
They pick the leaves in the springtime, only for a few weeks. And only when it ain’t rainin’ or humid. Picky, ain’t they? Guess that’s why it’s supposed to be special.
Now, this tea don’t have none of them macronutrients. Fat, protein, you know, stuff that fills ya up. But it’s got antioxidants. Polyphenols, flavonoids, and more of them tannins. More than other teas, they say, ’cause they don’t mess with it much.
They grow it in some place called Fujian province in China. Far away, I reckon. The dried leaves look all withered and fuzzy. Not much to look at, but they say it’s what’s inside that counts.
So, that’s the story on white tea. Fancy names, fancy ingredients, but in the end, it’s just tea. Drink it if you like, or don’t. Makes no difference to me. But if you’re gonna have it, have it plain. No need to go mixin’ it with vodka, for goodness sake!
