So, I’ve been dealing with a rather itchy situation lately – head lice. Yeah, not fun. I heard somewhere that tea tree oil might do the trick, so I thought, why not give it a shot? I mean, I’ve used it for other stuff like pimples and it worked okay, so maybe it could handle these little buggers too.

Getting Started

First off, I grabbed a bottle of tea tree oil from the store. Make sure it’s 100% pure, no additives and stuff. Then, I did a little reading online. Some folks mixed it with olive oil, others with their regular shampoo. I decided to go with olive oil ’cause my scalp’s kinda sensitive.

Mixing it Up

I used about 2 tablespoons of olive oil and added like 10-15 drops of tea tree oil. I stirred it up real good in a small bowl. It smelled pretty strong, like a mix of medicine and the woods, but not terrible.

Applying the Potion

Next, I hopped in the shower and got my hair all wet. Then, I took that oil mixture and started massaging it into my scalp. I made sure to get it all over, from the roots to the tips. It felt a little tingly, but not in a bad way. After I was sure my whole head was covered, I put on a shower cap to keep things contained.

The Waiting Game

The waiting was the worst part. I had to keep that oily concoction on my head for at least 30 minutes. Some sites said to leave it for hours, but I didn’t want to risk irritating my skin. I just chilled, watched some TV, and tried not to think about the little critters having a bad time on my head.

Washing it Out

After the wait, I washed my hair with my regular shampoo, like, two or three times to make sure all the oil was out. My hair felt super soft afterwards, which was a nice bonus.

Combing for Survivors

Now came the fun part – combing. I used a special fine-toothed comb that’s made for getting rid of lice and nits (that’s what their eggs are called). I sectioned off my hair and carefully combed through each part, wiping the comb on a paper towel to see what I caught.

Repeating the Process

I did this whole routine every day for about a week. It was a bit of a hassle, but I figured it was better than using those harsh chemical treatments.

The Verdict

So, did it work? Well, after the first few days, I noticed way less itching. And when I combed, I was finding fewer and fewer live lice. By the end of the week, I didn’t see any live ones, just a few nits. I kept combing for another week just to be sure, and so far, so good! My head feels way better, and I think I finally kicked those little buggers to the curb.

It wasn’t a walk in the park, and it took some time and effort. This oil will be a life saver!
