organic tea
Okay, so today I want to talk about this green tea I’ve been trying out – Yamamotoyama Green Tea. I’ve always been a fan of green tea, so I was excited to give this a go.
First, I went online to try to get some. There are a lot of options. But I didn’t know which one was the right one, so I checked out different places where I could buy it. Finally, I made my purchase. They had it at a decent price, and I didn’t have to wait too long for it to arrive.
When it got here, I ripped open the package right away. The first thing I did was to look at the instructions on how to make it, you know, I gotta make it right. Their instructions were kind of vague, they mentioned something about “Sencha” and “Bancha.” Apparently, Sencha is the fancy stuff, and it’s like 80% of what they make in Japan. You’re supposed to brew it at around 70 degrees Celsius for a couple of minutes. Bancha is from the same plant but picked later, so it’s not as premium.
Anyway, I decided to go with the Sencha. I boiled some water and then let it cool down a bit to get it to that 70-degree mark. I don’t have a thermometer for my water, so I just eyeballed it, probably not the best idea, but hey, it worked.
I also read somewhere that they use carbon dioxide to decaffeinate their green tea, which is kind of cool, I guess. Not sure how that works, but it sounds better than using chemicals.
Overall, I’d say the Yamamotoyama Green Tea is pretty good. It’s a solid choice if you’re into green tea. It’s not the best I’ve ever had, but it’s definitely up there. It’s a nice everyday tea that I can see myself drinking regularly. If you happen to find it, maybe give it a try!
